Yup, especially in the politically/social commentary/religious charged threads. It's almost like typing what I want to say is good enough for me without posting it.

Man, I will read shit I posted from like 2004 (and many years after), and it's pretty embarrassing :laughing I wish my now self to go back to my then self and slap him. It's weird because a large part of my adult life is chronicled on this website, and I don't like that.

Maybe this post got me to 97% tho :ride

Yea, I also type out posts sometimes and delete them before submitting.

As I get older it just isn’t worth the engagement/drama much of the time. I’ve been perma-banned on other forums back in the day. A lot of my bad posts were under the influence, but some were not.

Bottom line for me is that I haven’t found an online forum where there can be good, open-minded, authentic, civil debate/discussion, so I won’t bother trying. I’m not really trying to change anyone’s mind or validate my own beliefs.

BTW I almost deleted most of this post. Seriously.

I like the ones where I'm slaving away for 15 minutes and meandering around to get to the point and...just give up.

Because I'm an okay Boomer, I don't know which instachatgramsnappy thing it is, but I heard there is one where the message dissolves after a minute or something.

TO me, an inveterate hoarder on physical and mental levels, this is the best solution for most of the drivel we deliver, even in good faith. I have a terrible time deleting stuff I've written and saved.

Honestly, if you go back and read your old posts and you aren't cringing, that's a worry. You aren't the same person you were then, and you're always growing.

I write a bunch of posts and then delete them too. Feels good to recognize that, while you may have needed to write it, no one else needed to read it.

As long as you’re not advocating violence or hate and are just trying to start/add to a great topic feel free to express yourself. You may think others aren’t interested in your viewpoints but that’s the purpose of a public forum. Over the years I’ve been a member here I’ve learned so much from what others had to say and was exposed to ideas and thoughts I never could have imagined on my own. That’s why I stay on board with BARF.
Remember too that you have the right to free speech without fearing a knock on your door in the middle of the night like in many countries around the world.
GO FOR IT. Let’s hear what you have to say.

And you mean my efforts to keep Barf historical is upsetting you?? :twofinger

edit: nevermind...

:laughing

Well played. :applause

Fuck. Another word to look up.

Edit: that shit is dark.

Agreed

same. I am deleting a lot more of my posts lately. I think it is just maturity, but it also may be me just not giving as many fucks anymore.

but is is not all for not, typing it out and consolidating my thoughts is therapeutic i find

I delete a lot, IF I am even replying (on BARF, but basically everywhere else online also). I'm significantly much more of a lurker now, for a few reasons:

1 - I don't have / don't want to allocate the energy to an online argument with strangers

2 - I don't have anything that will add value to the discussion

3 - its fun watching all you people duke it out from the sidelines

4 - i hate that things you post are basically online forever.
