Very interesting pictures. Where was that Lava Cave ? :p
Sounds like interesting rally. Have ton of questions, but wait till meet up sometime.

A BIG :thumbup to those participated. Hope to be there next year.

A question to those on race replicas... How was it? Painful? Not so bad? Would do it again on the same horse?

Lava cave is in Lava Beds National Monument, between Alturas and Klamath Falls. Have to get back up there with more time to explore.

Geeze you guys went way up there. That's some major riding done.
Remember seeing a TV program on the Modoc Wars. How the Modoc Indians used the lava flows as cover against US Calvary. Bet theres bunch of interesting stuff up that way.
Remember seeing Grave stone markers in Arizona along the Butterfield trail. Lt. Smith killed by arrow and many more. Barried where they died, not collected into a cemetery. Imagine there are few like that there also.

Here's a GPS track of my route on the Cal24. I'm the ? between Sean and Doug a page or two up. There are some pics of me and my bike on some of the other pics above (blue zx-12r)

My track is the yellow line. I shortcutted the 2nd leg so I wasn't on 395, but other than that this was pretty close to the base route.
