Now, after almost 10 days my head is working a bit better, so I want post a status and thank!
The guys at PTT, Michael and his crew, came out to speak to me while I was in the hot pit lane being worked on by EMTs. This made a huge impact on me in terms of comfort having some of my brothers talking to me thereby not making me feel so isolated at a very scary and confusing time. cRa1g helping out my girlfriend and team mates, gathering all my belongings and bikes.
I am very fortunate to have been flown to John Muir a renowned trauma facility.
I wasn't aware or maybe refused to believe how really f'd up I was/am.
I had a open compound tib-fib fracture and blown out left ankle. My ab and obliques on the left completely detached but not before taking the front of my pelvis with them. This resulted in significant internal bleeding needing several blood transfusions. Tore my urethrae. Broke the back of my pelvis at the sacrum. Compressed T-12. Torn left triceps.
I get it. I am very lucky! I will probably be here another week or so.

I just want to say thanks to all who are concerned and are sending positive vibes. I have always hated it when they hauled a guy out from the track. Now I know it sucks actually being the guy flown out.
I will miss round one but will be in our pits at round 2!
Come say hello and find out more about Uniform Speed!
Cheers and oooowwwwwws,
Rob

DUDE

glad you are posting. I hope you have the speediest recovery possible and hope to see you soon.

I always hate it when I hear one of my friends is taking the whirleybird ride! It makes me sick to my stomach, like I want to throw up! I know you're going through a lot right now but I can't tell you how relieved we all are that you will come out of this relatively ok. Heal up fast and we'll see you at the track real soon! :thumbup

Wow man, sounds like a less than fun day. Glad you're on the mend and bravo to the PTT folks for helping make a bad day somewhat better.

God damn man... wtf happened? Glad you made it, sounds like it was a lot more serious than any of us (or you!) realized!

I'll be sure to swing by and say hi round 2.

Rob-

I left early that day too I only broke one body part. I always hate to hear someone getting carted out. I was talkig too one of the PTT guys and he said you are one tough SOB!!! Wish you a speedy recovery....

Rob,

We don't know each other; but I'm raising a beer to your complete recovery.

Chad

Holeee CRAP, dude!

Never heard or seen your name before, but damn I hope you heal from all of that, and quickly!

What HAPPENED?

Awesome to see you back! Best of luck with your recovery. :hail

Good to see you on here posting. I was one of the 1st PTT guys there and helped get your bike/gear back to your pits. That looked like a pretty scary crash. Heal up fast and we'll see you back out there soon. Btw you left your mark at Infineon there are a couple good sized marks on the kwall from where your bike hit. Here is to a speedy recovery :thumbup.

Dude, that's a laundry list of injuries! It's going to be a long road to recovery. Are you going to have to be in a wheel chair? How much orthopedic hardware did they have to put in?

I know we haven't had the chance to meet yet (which is sad as I was over in your pits a couple of times that day but just missed you) but I'm not only raising a beer for your recovery, but hit me up if you need anything. I still have some of the stuff from my wheelchair stay that might help if you have to be in one, which I suspect you probably will with pelvis and sacrum fractures.

Jesus Rob...

I'm glad you're well enough to post, thank you for the update. You can bet the team you assembled will be out there kicking ass and taking names until you can get back out there and show them the fast line :) Good luck in the coming months with your recovery. I'll come see you at round 2.

Heal up, seems everyone will be happier when your back. :ride

Damn, Rob...

Glad to hear your doing ok. I had no idea that was you that day until after I got home from infineon and saw it on barf.

Heal up man

Glad to hear your ok and making a recovering. Keep it up and we'll see you soon.

oWWY! You must have an iron constitution! With all those injuries I am wondering which one your body registers most? Hopefully not all.:(

I look forward to seeing you "back on track" soon and wish you the speediest of recoveries.

In the meantime I look forward to meeting you and cheering the Uniform Speed team on!:ride:thumbup
