You also have to remember that along with the mathematical equation, autos are made for a "controlled crush" now. The metal and everything else is designed to take the impact and crumple to soften some of the impact during high speed impacts which reduces the amount of energy transferred into the cabin and on it's passengers. It really doesn't take much to make some of those crumple zones ... well, crumple.
 
i remember seeing the old pics...pretty crazy..

and im seeing more and more online vids of cagers hitting bikers....:(
 
Yeah like when the bike is parked inside the car.
If a biker ever lives through one of those, I guess the decent thing a biker could say is, thank you for sharing your air bag with me.
