A weekend in the Algarve Portugal

Hey peeps, I'm trying my hand at the Youtube game and have documented my trip on my R1250GSA to the Algarve a few weeks ago.

I encountered a little Lisbon traffic:

Saw the castle at Santiago do Cacem:

Wound through the streets there:

I went over to Sines:

Saw the fort in Sines:

And saw a monument to Vasco de Gama:

really looking forward to hearing about your eight-week Spain/France trip this summer.

my wife and I love the fact that we can fly direct from SFO to Lisbon and rent motorcycles, and don’t need to fuss with visas, that I recall.

@SFMCJohn, thanks so much! Yes, I fly direct on TAP. Summer months it gets expensive. But if you can plan in advance in the off-season, it can get as low as $500!

Yes, I'm kind of a history buff.

I use a DJI Mini 3 Pro. Just pop it up for a few quick minutes at each site. 3rd and 4th episodes have some great Drone shots.

It’s a big enough country with variety but is it the sort of place where you have to keep your eyes on your bike else it runs a strong chance of disappearing?
I’d probably sleep better with a rental leaving the insurance to deal with such mishaps.

I live in SF, where if you leave a car on the street with a Snickers bar on the seat, you'll return to a smashed window.

I've never felt like there was any kind of theft issue in Portugal. I do lock my bike with a disc lock, but probably unnecessarily.

When I was looking for my place, I looked in Nazere. I decided it was too far from Lisbon. But it's a fun place to visit. I've never been there when the big waves were going. My place is in Ericeria, which is where all the kids in Europe go to learn to surf; smaller waves and more kids smoking weed and hanging out on the beach!
