Anyone know where to get AGV helmets locally? I'm down in south bay (san jose), and would like to find a local place to try them on. If not, I can just make a guess and order one online, but I'd rather not.

i guess it depends on what type of AGV helmets you are looking for. i have seen it at roadrider and also at motogio but if you want more of a selection then the dainese store in sf has a decent selection.

Be warned, there loud as hell.:wow

Motostrano in RWC. It's worth the drive to try one on first before you buy. I bought the new Simoncelli online and had to return it for a different size. Not only did I have to pay for shipping but also a 10% restocking. I won't mention the online retailer but their initials are CycleSector. Last time I do business with them.
If you're getting a GP Tech they're tough to get into at first because of the neck collar but once you squish your head through it feels fine. Plus they're really light.
Give Motostrano your business. Mention Barf and get a 5% discount.

I bought mine from motostrano. Bought a bigger size than I should have. Wore it around the house for 20 minutes or so (didnt take off any stickers, or labels). They gladly exchanged it for a smaller one. Since they didn't have the smaller one in size, ordered without any shipping cost.

And yes, they're loud. I have the stealth series.

SF is a bit out of the way to get a lid. I'm working in the city now, so maybe I'll find opportunity to make it there. Motostrano looks like a good option. I'm in Redwood city ever so often, so that's not a bad deal. Good looking out, thanks for the info.

If you do have a chance, do drop by the D-Store. It's mo-fo-ing candyland for euro-gear-philes. You can get high from the leather fumes. Huge place, and Dainese stuff is hands down the nicest line out there. I may be wrong, but very little in that store is made in mainland China (not that there's anything wrong with that), a rarity for gear manufacturers.

I was at the D-store last week, and they had the 2009 models for a good discount. The helmet I bought in October for 350$ was 250 at the D-store.

Motostrano.

The S-4's visor isn't as good as I'd like. It's noisier and doesn't hold its position as well as the RF-1000.

Every time I drive out to Motostrano I am severely disappointed in how little stock they have. Especially helmets.

I've been there twice with cash to buy a helmet.

Got a deal on a jacket there though.

/thread re:d store

does the d- store carry Nolan? mine's getting long in the tooth and I also think my old one may have been the wrong size. I'd order one, but I'd rather buy local AND try a different size. I also wanna see if the new version of my helmet is an improvement or if I should keep shopping.

IMHO helmet noise should be irrelevant since everyone should be wearing earplugs anyway.

I was there yesterday for the first time, and dude, you're so right. What an awesome store. The people were friendly and helpful too, and they had some nice eye-candy parked throughout the store.

I bought a Laguna Seca Pelle jacket for 1/3rd off. I didn't check out the helmets but they carried some brand I'd never heard of.

AGV :)
They're owned by Dainese now.

As for noise and ear plugs, I should've worn some today. But the ones I have hurt after I put on the helmet. Time to get some other ones. Damn with small ears :nerd

you're making this place sound so awesome I guess I have to check it out...... I am a bit of a Dainese whore.
