Oh, I could find a half dozen things to complain about and post in different parts of my friend's BARF. However, I have enough SERIOUS negativity in my life and would like to share something positive.

I sent a pair of Alpinestars Supertech-R boots in for a re-sole. I thought the soles should have held up better, at the time. But the boots were still in very good shape even with constant wear and with more than one crash (track).

Alpinestars wanted a picture - annoyed me. They said it wasn't a DIY - annoyed me. I had to find my own box - annoyed me. Boy, am I a tough customer. :teeth

Here is the punch line: The boots are at-least as good as new. I kid-you-not. I don't know if they replace everything for everyone, but they did for me. I am completely flabbergasted with the quality of work for $100. Alpinestars has made me a devoted customer. (I already own 3 pairs of Supertech boots, btw.)

Thank you, Alpinestars repairs!

Wheres the pictures?

I had The Cobbler in Hayward resole my boots for $70. Did a fantastic job. The new soles are better than the originals.

Mad

Glad to hear they are still doing this, it's a fantastic service. I have sent in at least four pairs and it extends life another year or two, or more if you ride less.

So I don’t need to use rubber epoxy to fill in the hole in my soul?? :D did not know they offer repair service, woot woot

I had ground off the attachment point for the toe slider - they resoled the boots, fixed the slider attachment and gave me two sets of sliders.

Third set of re-soles and A stars customer for MX and track

Same. Went to a local cobbler in millbrae, although this was with a pair of Sidis and they sell replacement soles. Also replaced my worn out Velcro patches and I swapped out the yellowed plastic heel cups with new ones. My 8 year old vertigos look like new again but don't need to be broken in. Cost me around $120 all together iirc. It's nice to be able to breath new life into your gear when so much stuff is now disposable.

heard similar praise of A* rubber repair - buddy sent his in and they look brand new. I think their glove quality has gone to shit personally but my SMX6 boots are like freaking pillows and they're super stable/comfortable all day.

I got them largely because they were comfortable but hearing so many positive comments about the resole from them just made me feel better about buying them too.

Too many people (myself included) just buy new stuff instead of re-using. I hope re-using becomes a bigger thing - we'd sure cut back on a lot of waste.

Completely revamped my boots for 40 bucks 3 mintbs ago. Love their boots. Great customer service.
