Saw this on facebook. Now you can get it in a Dual Sport flavor. This'd be good for dualsport events. I don't think you'd have enough juice for LAB2V with this though.

Still using that 4CS fork when KTM makes the best air fork out there, but this is good. Overdue, but good. Will the people who bought the dirt version have a path to make theirs street legal?

Pfft silly e-bikes. Still waiting til I can go 900 miles on a charge and recharge it in 20 seconds.

Name one bike with a 900 mile tank that’ll fill up with gas in 20 seconds.....

I think Isaak Newton might be able to help you there. Or mybe Einstein. Or the Great Spirit.

Or maybe not.

Edit: wait, Honda 50?

This is the Alta I was waiting for. I assume it's around the same cost as the others at around 15k?

I have been consistently getting 40 miles of trail riding at 15-20 mph. This changes alot if you go 40 miles and hour. Or 50.

Alta needs to make an electric trials bike were you can modulate the power (ie clutch without a shifter)

The Redshift MX bike cannot be made street legal in California, as dumb as that is

I would have bought one if I was able to occasionally ride it on the street, maybe with 17s

This EX looks nice. Hopefully it's a pure off-road bike without many compromises for the street (eg weight)

Why?? If KTM can do it with a gas motor why cant ALTA??? Not enough bribe money perhaps???

I don't think that's really necessary so long as you can rock the bike back and forth if it has a smooth enough throttle it doesn't need it. My empulse has a clutch and I rarely use it just to downshift, the friction zone is so narrow on it and you'd probably burn the clutch up anyway, I suppose if they could have a clutch with a wide friction zone, would have to be a beefy clutch though that monster torque.

Alta just did, but any sort of retroactive change from an off road bike to street is pretty impossible, so "updating" an MX to street legal would be like trying to get a plate for a red sticker KTM.

I don't see why you couldn't plate it though it's a zero emissions vehicle, so long as its got the street legal bits....

If it has an off road VIN it can't be plated, doesn't matter what the emissions or added equipment is.

Aside from emissions, an off road bike won't have gone through the DOT certifications needed for street bikes.

FTFY I have a CRF450X and a CRF150R that are plated. It can be done!

OP that bike looks really cool. I have ridden Butch's Alta MX and it feels like a really powerful 125 two smoke. I can't imagine what this DS will be like!:ride

Are they older bikes? Never heard of anyone getting a legit plate on anything post 2004. Seen plenty of post 2004 bikes with plates but they all had something shady going on to get the plate.
