Am I the only one that thinks Motorcyclist Magazine is horrific?

Its the further dumbing down of society. No one wants to read anymore.

I'd take this more seriously if every generation didn't think that about the next generation since, like, Socrates.

He said something about how the youth don't raise their front wheels when the elders join the party anymore or something. His wheelies were probably ga'bage.

Ah. . .youth, totally wasted on the young.

And the young don't get that their elders were faster, riskier, sexier, cooler and louder than they could ever be. And still are.

And Motorcyclist magazine could save themselves with bike pin-ups, humor and efforts at art. But then they aren't about the 'reader motorcyclist' but rather about selling product for the manufacturers.

As I paged through it not one but two cards dropped out offering a 1 year subscription for $17.97 or 2 years for $27.97.

:laughing
The exact same thing happened to me last night. (I thought of your post immediately)
The irony was not lost on me.

Well, I got a copy of Cycle World in the mail to fill out my Motorcyclist subscription.

Issue 3 2019 and I read it cover to cover as it was well worth reading and I might subscribe.

Peter Egan and a "usual for him" very entertaining/humorous ride report, several interesting sections penned by Kevin Cameron, another by Adam Waheed on current tire tech and a well written 2 bike comparo by Justin Dawes.

Peter Egan is a god to me.
If you don't have his collection of columns in his books "Leanings" you need to take a trip to the book store. (or search Amazon)

I should probably subscribe to Road and Track just for his writing also!:laughing

That's pretty much the only reason I do. :laughing
Truth is, I'd read a phone book if that guy wrote it.....but I'm much more interested in his motorcycle stuff over any car stuff....but that's just me.

A fitting end to Motorcyclist as a badly managed print magazine.

The final copy arrived with the Editor announcing "the end of Motorcyclist in print."

What a deal.
I just received an email from Bonner Corporation saying that they want me back as a Motorcyclist subscriber. Just $14.97 per year. :rolleyes

:laughing

I thought Motorcyclist Cycle World Magazine was done, but I just received another issue today. And it had the one article I have been waiting for and haven't been able to find anywhere - a comparison between the 790 Adventure R and the Tenere 700. I liked the conclusion. :laughing

And one thing you almost never see published anymore, quarter mile time and speed, 12.6 at 108 mph. I wish I had that number for the 1090R. Oh, and rear wheel horsepower of 83 point something, vs 63 point something for the Yamaha.

Some of the stuff in the magazine I've already seen on their website. I guess the rest of these article will show up online soon enough.

===== Edit =====
Man, I must be really out of it to get the magazine name wrong. :rolleyes:laughing

I was surprised to see it show up yesterday as well.

Haven't read it yet though.

I can't figure out why I've been confusing Motorcyclist with Cycle World. Back when I was receiving both, Motorcyclist was clearly the inferior magazine and that's why I dropped the subscription. There's a chance I'll renew Cycle World at least one more time. At least it's a quality product, even if most of what's in it is available online, some of it even appears before the paper version arrives.
