AMA Sends U.S. Supermoto Team to Supermoto de Nations

on a related note, some "new" old news:

McAllister - AMA Supermoto Open Pro Champ

".....Gage McAllister has dominated the 2014 AMA Supermoto racing season, consistently achieving high performances and podium finishes, which has seen him secure the 2014 AMA Supermoto Open Pro Championship.

"I'm pumped to clinch the championship one round early and before going overseas to race," said McAllister.
....."

note that MotoAmerica & SuperMoto truly are "AMA" & not AMA Pro

So they were NOT ?? riding these bikes this last weekend??

Superbiker Mettet is a different event and the riders had to arrange for bikes for that race. The US racers were on Hondas (mostly) with Micky Dymond on a KTM.

As I understand it, the Aprilia deal is just for the US Team for Supermoto of Nations. Haven't seen pics of the track yet but I've been told there are a lot of big jumps which may be more work on the bigger, heavier Apes.

Once again.. thanks for the info!!

Sweet looking bikes for sure.

yeah, the only thing sexayyer than a SMVX is a Factory SMVX

Photos from Saturday. Gage had the fastest USA qualifying time and also had a best of the USA finish of 9th in his qualifying race. Tough day with some crashes and bike problems for the other team members.

Johnny Lewis is #91
Monte Frank is #92
Gage McAllister is #93

It appears TeamUSA is the only team racing Aprilias.

Big air for McAllister on the big Aprila. Photo credit: MXPTV.com

Race day. Can't find any live streaming. The races will be shown delayed on MAV-TV but I don't have information on the broadcast date yet.

Still waiting on news for final results. Track preview.

That looks like a cool track.

The couple of long straights might be good for the Ape's.

Hope so....cool to see Gage on the preview :thumbup

15th out of 16 teams that made the cut (22 teams entered) as I understand it. Gage had best finish of any of the US team with a 9th in one of his races. Good considering they were up against the best in the world on bikes they'd only seen a couple of days before.

Brok said there was a lot to overcome in Saturday qualifying with respect to bike problems.
