So what specs are you running now? I put off on getting HL2 because I hear it's a system hog (and I'm still running an Athlon 1.2ghz T-bird and a G3 Ti500).

The system I built consists of a MSI K8N Neo Platinum Mother Board, AMD 64 3400+, Kingston HyperX PC4000 (2x) 512MB, eVGA 6800 Ultra 425/1100 and a power supply big enough to power all this. On the video stress test built into counter strike my average frames @ 1280x960 with everything turned up is 124fps. There is no slow down at all. I'll try to post more pics up of different maps when I get a chance.

I've got a 3ghz p4 (800mhz fsb variety) with a gig of pc3200 ram and an older 9700pro. HL2 runs great, CSS mabe 10fps better. Water is really the only major slow down with CSS on mid-range systems, and particle effects--smoke nades, floor and wall bullet hits, etc. Overall it's pretty efficient, and there are many optimization guides online that can get a lower end system running ok with decent effects.

I'm one of 7 beta testers for the chaos team so I'm a little biased on how freekin' sweet this mod is. Basically upgrades all the ut weapons, maps, addes relics, and best of all, a duel/melee mode for battling with only swords, axes, giant hammers, katanas, and akimbo daggers.

In this screen shot I'm taking advantage of my admin status and just threw out several 'gravity vortexes' that are basiclly little globes that explode into the blue vortex things that suck everything in and whip it around like a giant blender, usually with lethal results.

I'm having a good time playing it. I have a ton of games, but I'm slow at playing them (I like it that way). I feel sorry for the people that can beat a game in two days- I would not feel that I'm getting my $$'s worth.

I got to say i still prefer Americas Army graphics over Counter Strikes.

But CS does look and feel alot better now.. If anyone wants to hook up and play CS or AA. I'm 420_: ) fagmattdamon i'm on everynight between 7 - 11

I have a Ventrilo Server running at the house... so all you have to do is down load it* it's free ... so you can voice chat with us at the same time...

*this program will not effect game performance.


but you can send me a PM give me a number so that i can give you the IP address to log on to our server.

Ghost Recon is what got me playing Raven Shield. Which has more tactical action. And i like the Tactical part best.

I have seen you on before. My screen name is Tri-Me I am always in hospital, usually in an official server from the west coast. a 63 or 64 server.
