We used to use a hill like that driver's training for the five tons and deuces as well as the HMMWVs. The "eyes as big as dinner plates" look on the young kids going through it when they realized they could traverse it was always hilarious.

I still remember the licensing class when we drove a HMMWV through water. It just kept getting deeper and deeper and deeper. Water covered the hood and was a few inches up the windshield.

Those were great training days! The troop would just keep looking at me looking at them with their fear growing as the water kept getting deeper. I'd just stare back and say, "Keep going, private. I didn't say stop." :laughing
