At the second one I pretty much always suddenly just stop and stare at them when that happens. I'm usually looking down at them because most humans are very small for some reason. It amuses me. If they act all frightened and skitter away, they get the 1,000 yard stare. If they make eye contact and give nervous laughter or apologize I give a genuine smile and say, "great minds think alike, eh?"
