Learned the hard way. :(

After setting your helmet down at a stop, carefully examine the inside of it before putting it back on your head. :nerd Why, you ask? In my case, a hornet had decided to investigate my helmet stink, and it took strong exception to being pinned between the helmet liner and the top of my left ear. :( Two days later my ear looks like it belongs to a losing boxer. :shocker

Your education. My expense. :laughing

That sounds terrible.

Had you gotten down the road at all before it started stinging, or did it happen right away?

Ouch... And this thread would be so much better with a picture.

Right away, fortunately. Didn't even have my chin strap fastened yet.

Little bastard's dead, so I'll call it a draw. :p

There are so many humiliating photos of me out on the web that I felt no compulsion to add another. :laughing

We demand pics!! You know...for educational purposes

Is this you, Kurt?

Wow, that blows...

Stings, actually..... :laughing

No big deal really, thought it would be for someone who's allergic. I'm not so it just falls into the category of, "Cool story, bro..." I'll just walk around disfigured for a few days.... :party

Incrementally disfigured.

That is fortunate actually.

I had a dazed bee hit my visor and then crawl up onto the rim right by my nose. Luckily I stopped before it did any damage.

Been stung after they got into my jacket before too. I cannot imagine what the hell I would do if it was stinging in my helmet. :wtf

bummer...stinging critters in helmet are on on my list of things to avoid. Although less bad than hornets, ants and spiders also like to crawl into helmets...ask me how I know. I check more religiously now.

Hornet = winning

I did that once at the lake with a soda. A yellow jacket decided to try a sip of my Coke, but my lip was blocking it's exit, so it decided to tell my lip to get the hell out of it's way.

I had a bee somehow get inside of my helmet going into T1 at T-hill. My visor was closed and I have a chin skirt, so I don't know how she made it, but it freaked me the fuck out. :(

I always check a helmet that's been on the ground. Too many slimy things can crawl with legs upon the slimy... er, ground near my helmet.
