looking
So I am getting ready to take the MSF class and am open to traveling if one is better than another. I know I have heard about the alameda one but what are your thoughts about the class? BTW I am looking for one in the bay area not near Davis. Thanks

Just go to the most convenient site for you; don't trust other experiences too much because they are totally subjective. If the person had a hard time with the course, they might be projecting their frustration on the coaches. The way you experience the course is totally dependent on your own perception, and if you go into it thinking that you're going to get a bad experience, it's going to be a self-fulfilling prophecy. Like I said... just pick the course that is most convenient for you and go there ready to learn and follow instructions.

^^Yep.^^

...but I coach in Vallejo and we rock! :teeth

I heard the Mountain View site is pretty awesome... :D

I think the rider coach at that one is hawt :loco

You mean it's hard to pass the course there?

I know you said you're not lookin for one in Davis, but I took the one in Woodland, and it was pretty good.. they had a big parking lot, provided decent 250 bikes and helmets, and the instructors were pretty friendly. Typical 3-day format with 1 night of classroom education and 2-day on-bike training. They went over all the basics and the exam was split up into sections so it was pretty easy. I had never ridden before, but I only got 4-points docked (I remember my buddy getting 8).

BTW if you're under 21, it's cheaper by like a hundred bucks than 22+.

:rofl
That Bap, he cuts a fine figure.

I took the MSF class back in the day out at the Yuba College site in Woodland, and I was really pleased with them. The presence of female instructors made a difference to me.

i took mine at mission college, coaches were pretty damn cool

If I had to choose, I'd go to Mountain View because I know who runs the place. It may be a bit more difficult to pass, but riding is no joke and you want to be scrutinized as much as possible before you get the :thumbup The people whom I took the class with in SSF were a bit too lenient IMO.

yup so hard, that if you still stall after 30 mins of riding they'll kick you out.

Try alameda, that place rock. I passed my dumb ass there. The real lessons starts when you get a bike after passing MSF.

Hmmm, that's interesting. I actually coach at both Mountain View and at Alameda and have for a few years. I'd say my coaching is the same at either site.

I really enjoyed the SF City College location. My instructors (Wenona and James) were great!

+100 points for sure. Wenona was very patient, and James would critic me to help my techniques a lot. Even after some of the "less skilled" people were crashing into my bike, almost running me over, and going at a snails pace. They were super cool.

Go there!!

If you are going to be taking the class in the heat, I would strongly suggest taking the morning class to beat the heat, even if you're not normally a morning person ;)
