So it turns out I didnt' get off so easy. Looking at likely back, L and C spine, surgery, but not sure how to proceed yet. I've got a bunch of herniated discs, a ruptured disc, multiple moved vertebrae, nerve damge, etc.
Anyone have stellar recommendations on a neurosurgeon? The name I keep hearing from various people is Dr. Brian Andrews in SF. He's supposed to be the shit - and his waiting list shows it...no appt's until late September. I'm checking in for second opinions with other local surgeons who dont' have that long of a wait, but want the guy who's cutting me to be the best, if it comes to that.
I know you all are an injury prone bunch, so if you have any other recomendations, or even just a thumbs up for Dr. Andrews, I'd appreciate it.
He's not in the bay area but he he's a helluva surgeon.

I got to know him when he happened to be on call when I shattered my forearm into many pieces. It wasn't his specialty but he did a great job with the jigsaw puzzle. Haven't spoken to him in a couple years but at the time he was traveling out of the country every month for training on new procedures. My wife is an ICU nurse and he still has a great reputation.
What about the famous Dr. Ting in Fremont? If the big-time GP/AMA racers use him, I figure he's got to be fairly good?
Mainly does orthopedics
The cam and the tube are separate pieces. There are set screws to lock them together. The set screws can vibrate loose (even with red loctite and RTV) and jam in the throttle. I know of 3 people who experienced this.
solution: Desmoto Sport has fabbed up single-piece tubes+cams that don't experience this issue. I have been running these without issue for the past several years.
