Anyone going to Sturgis on a sports bike next month?

We can derive any number of Ishikawa diagrams you'd like. I'm sure we could come up with a branch for every special little snowflake out there.

Ok, them's fightin words. Upper Pinehurst is a great road. I can't tell you how many times I've pulled an inside pass on that right side hairpin.

You're referring to "10 mile" hairpin at the bottom of the hill, or the Dead Man's Curve hairpin, closer to Skyline?

Either way, they are both left handers when you're going in the other direction.
:afm199

By the way Pinehurst was way better in the 60s, when it was carpeted with electric paisleys, kaleidoscopic redwood trees laughing hysterically as you rode by.

Without quoting anyone or starting shit, I'm not surprised that 25% of the people asked believes some kind of lie or conspiracy about Covid19 and face masks.

I would have guessed that it was the 40% of Americans who watch a particular cable channel.

Of course they say that 73.45% of all statistics are made up by some 400lb guy lying on his bed in Belarus.

Also have seen reporting that Sturgis attendees have been connected to clusters of new cases.

In my opinion: People have an obligation to take the best available measures to avoid being a disease vector.

It's the patrioic, moral and reasonable thing to do in a pandemic that has already claimed over 200k lives, that we know of, and it's not even close to being done.

:laughing

I was in Miami during that same week, March 6th through the 15th and there was virtually NO infections in Miami, even ate at a restaurant, no real social distancing, not much fear.

Around the end of bike week there were about 300 reported cases total in Florida.

Now there are 451,000.

Nice try though.

But someone said we "turned a corner" with "Herd Mentality". And it's only 200,000, that we know of. That's as if everyone in Rochester, New York, or Richmond Virginia died.
So if every 7 months 200,000 people die of a preventable, controllable disease, people must think that's an acceptable situation. After all we wouldn't want to have the people in the house on Pennsylvania Ave to be embarrassed.

No wonder Americans aren't welcome in the UK, New Zealand, the EU, and Canada....and that country to our immediate South.

Don’t be coy. Say what you mean.

Again, why dance around it. Or, is this is your way of thinking you’re clever enough to slip politics into an area you know is off limits?

Based on the sheer numbers of folks who are resisting wearing a mask during a pandemic makes me rethink using anything that's communally touched (gas pumps, ATM keypads, POS card readers, etc) because some of these dirty motherfuckers are the people who sneeze / scratch their unwashed assholes / touch their dirty junk and then put hands on things. Like cash, too.

Fucking A, wearing moto gloves full time is probably the way to go. The ones with carbon fiber knuckles will help in a fight when the anti-masker idiots get aggressive. So far I've only seen aggressively passive-aggressive, but never underestimate stupid.

Blown out of proportion? I dunno. Wear a condom, folks. People are fucking DIRTY.

You should never ride a motorcycle again if you understand probability.

BTW, what is the grandma count from Sturgis as of today? Up to about 5000 deaths and 10 billion in healthcare costs right? Or do we need to wait 2 more weeks?

Sounds like you're mad?

lol

Edit: I understand probability, it's why I also wear gear when I ride a motorcycle - being safe or practicing "the illusion of safety" is another discussion and not 100% relevant. But, to your example: I wear a mask like I wear gear for a motorcycle, the only difference is, my mask is protecting YOU. If we both wear them, we're all safer.

Do you have a dirty unwashed asshole? I apologize if I made you defensive with my post.

It would be safer for both of us if you rode a bicycle instead so that way the crash would be less violent when you hit me in a crosswalk, and also your exhaust emissions will not pollute my air and create climate change killing us all.

Your stake-raising examples demonstrating probability are muddling the point and are what the "just-a-flu"ers cling to for supporting their justifications for not observing smart pandemic PPE procedures.

Wear a mask. Argue numbers all you like, cry chicken little all you want, laugh at the libs who cower in fear - but wear a mask. You're on the wrong side of science, and likely the wrong side of history.

Also, I stand by my post, people are dirty motherfuckers.

Just a coincidence....

Secondary and tertiary infections.

This.

He put a response to this in the Georgia thread (for reasons he notes) if you're interested.

North and South Dakota continue to be the nations leaders in New Cases (519 and 459 per million 7 day average). The next highest is Wisconson at 359.

But, nah, probably not related...
