Arachnophobia

It's 2013, and we've got spiders in the big city.

I like Spiders..not like pets or anything...but I let them live in the sky-lite window above my bed. I see Mosquitoes that were caught in their web...And Mosquitoes have killed more people, with their "bite" than all the other insects in the world, combined.

I have a pet tarantula. She's a Chilean Rose Hair. She's at least 12 years old now. That's how long I've had her. Females can live as long as 25 years! She eats crickets. Actually pounces on them when she's really hungry. She won't climb on my bare hand for some reason, but she will climb aboard if I'm wearing a motorcycle glove. :thumbup

Karma's gonna kick my ass in the next life. I can remember sitting in our front yard when I was 4 years old, picking up daddy long legs and pulling all their legs off. Wish I hadn't done that. :laughing

I hate them too.

That's half the reason I got married. Someone's gotta deal with those little buggers. The other reason I got married is that I can't open most jars to save my life.

Then I realized that my cats are excellent spider killers. Good thing for him that I still can't open a jar.

Here's my 12 year old spider. :teeth

That thing looks more like a Muppet than a spider. :laughing

She does look like a muppet. :laughing After she molts, she's so gorgeous. Her hairs really are a brilliant rose color. She hasn't molted in a while though. I'll take a picture of her last molt, which I saved and post that. :rofl

I don't care about spiders, but I HATE birds :cry

Well, not hate, I am just scared shitless of them. The smaller they are the worse it is - hummingbirds are the worstest :cry

I haz a bird feeder, to prove I don't hate them :)

I think that movie The Birds did it to me

shudder
eewwwwww
:cry

Kelly says she's so scared of seeing a spider in here that she won't open the thread. :rofl

She's seriously arachnophobic. So much so that she keeps a bottle of isopropyl next to her bed to spray them. :rofl

I feel I must again point out that I provided a clear, concise, and informative warning with the scary spider picture I posted, so it's okay for her to look at this thread. :twofinger

You haven't lived til you let a tarantula crawl over your hand and up your arm. It's amazing.

This. Except camel spiders... nasty bastards.

spiders are cool. orbs are my favorites. i usually leave them all be. make the occasional exception though. found a couple of these in the house during a freeze in january - apparently they like to come in out of the cold, so they probably weren't too happy when i put them back outside.

House spiders eat the pests that ruin your home and bite you at night. With the exception of very few types of spiders, none bite humans.

I used to have severe arachnophobia but I have gotten over it almost entirely. Though I don't enjoy seeing them, I know they are everywhere behind the scenes eating the nasties that live in the walls :)
