Ask The AFM President!

Someone qualified. A flyer whipped out in MSWord just looks amature. A well thought out media presentation package (large poster, flyers, smaller display for counters, web banners of various standard sizes, etc.) adds a level of professionalism.

whats MS word? I dont deal in word files or rublisher.

Yes I am in the printing industry :)

Well if there not doing it now the chances there going to do it later are slim.

You would think that is job for vise president. What else he has to do? Don't even need to worry about Berto been assassinated. :)
btw. I think vise presidents used to chase sponsors and contingency in past, and do that kind work.

Can I have friends and family hang out at my pit, and do they need a pit pass or some sort of verification, or will the pits be open to any one

Yes, they only need to pay the entry fee, same as a normal AFM weekend. Pits are open to all spectators and gate entrants.

What is the air speed of an unladen swallow?

Serious question though... I understand that someone can get an annual rental on a transponder, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere on the site. Anyone in particular I should contact to get that setup?

There is no annual rental and $60/ weekend means best buying one if a full season is anticipated.

+1000. Traditionally, BOD members will do jobs they are partly qualified for, but the only ones who know what needs to be done and able to manage the effort. Sometimes we get lucky and they're uniquely qualified. However, BOD members are best left to project basis stuff for a variety of reasons.

The AFM could pay Michael Medina - an AFM Racer - to do it. He does that shit for a living...

Time to ping Mike!

Not totally true…but there ARE people doing these things. We simply don't have a department who does this, but overall much of the BOD's time is spent on thinking about how to bolster membership. Marketing is but one component.

VP has no official duties except waiting for someone to poison the President. However, since Dave Worthington, the Presidential duty of vendor liaison was passed to the VP. ALL BOD members should be tasked with worth chasing sponsors and contingency. That has historically been left to the President and only recently was the term "chasing" used, as before we tended to have enough cash rolling in. Around 2007, that started to slow down each subsequent season.

May be only option since shooting at you will just make bullets zip over your head, regardless what your license say :teeth
I remember some old VP's doing the job of finding sponsors and stuff of that nature.

I don't, since I've been on the board…but then again, pretty much anyone who can bring in sponsors are gold! Some members have been a great help of late…and that's been huge. Board members all over have been able to bring in sponsors too in the 9 years I've been on.

What about my parking question, fucker? Are the Superbike people going to be pit nazis?

Yes, our people should be cooler…they're OUR people.

An appropriate way to assign a person/group to be in charge of marketing/recruiting/whatever would be to start a committee with people that are interested volunteering to participate.

Mr. President:

Do you prefer to call yourself short, or vertically challenged?

I prefer "taller than Siggy".

Will their be in pit tech inspection for round 2? And does one need to sign up for that, or how does it work?
