Atomic Blond

SPOILERS.

It makes zero sense she was working for the Russians/Germans. Zero. She killed so many of their guys, and they were trying to kill her? It was worth having his best men murdered and his potential double agent murdered or exposed? Come the fuck on. That means she's know they were "bad guys" from the moment she was picked up to knowing that virtually everyone she encountered was actually "on her side". The resources involved in recovering the list was ridiculous. And when they finally had it the dude just walks around with it on his wrist to have it re-stolen?

I thought it was a really good flick. Especially having not watched any trailers and only read the ambiguous vague reviews here.

I liked the strong female lead angle. I wish they would have explored the role of her sexual power more on docile men (as seems to be the real role with this next generation of men) and less on the girl/girl. But I guess we are still at the point where for you to be sexually assertive and powerful it has to be over another woman and not a guy. It's like "whoa we will make sure she's powerful but still not over a guy "

This is where the female character in Deadpool is still my favorite.

But yes she could handle her own in a fight. The bummer part was that to "end" the fights they made her always rely on a weapon to finish it. I would like to have seen her just straight knock a guy out with her fists.

I liked the spy / double agent aspect because it kept unfolding. But the Tarantino-esque way of telling s story is getting to be overdone. Sometimes it's cool to just tell a story backwards to forward. Lol

All in all I liked it and watch it again.

Escapism. When you have bigger things in your life changing sometimes it's nice to go sit in a dark theatre and escape for a couple hours.

I don't see a ton of movies, but I appreciate the collective experience of watching a good movie with a group of like minded folks.

I'm not saying I enjoy being crowded into a summer blockbuster with a bunch of teens yapping to each other and looking at their smartphones during the flick. To me that's a nightmare too. But I do enjoy the theater experience. So I like to catch a movie about once/month or so.

2 movies in one week? I go to the theater like once every 2 or 3 years... :laughing

I refuse to waste time or money on going to a movie theater. I truly believe they will be dead within 10 years.

Interesting. A whole part of my culture and much of it if not all the socialization will disappear? It would be replaced by.. seclusion. Maybe convenience of mandated choice?

That's your opinion & you're entitled to it. Just as I'm entitled to the opinion that that's just fucking sad.

Alamo Draft House and MoviePass both say you are hella wrong. I believe them.

More theaters with assigned seating makes things much better too.

Waiting in lines because of open seating sucks. I'm willing to go to opening day showings again knowing I don't have to stand in line for an hour just to get a decent seat.

I believe assigned Seating is the future. I love the Alamo Drafthouse model. That shit will ENDURE.

only problem with beer is I'm gonna have to pee during the movie and I hate taking breaks during movies.

I still stick to bringing in vodka in a water bottle or flask. water bottle is harder to get away with during summer though unless I'm with a girl who has a purse.
