ATT's to slow data to kill unlimited use.

As far as I know, they don't guarantee any speed in contract, just the upper bound.

True, but they have repeatedly branded it as "high speed." I'm no legal expert, but I'd bet a sandwich that a legal expert could make a case out of a company intentionally slowing the service down to where it is sub "high speed." That sort of murkiness is where star attorneys are made. They'll get tens of millions in legal fees in the settlement, and class members will get a $10 credit on their next bill (and probably a stealthy new, recurring $1.25 legal recovery fee added to the bill too).

There was similar outrage when Cable companies announced they will do it couple years back. I don't think anything happened. But yeah if someone does bother to file a suit, that would probably what will happen. :laughing

just like Netflix's "throttling" a few years ago.

first the companies redefine "speed". then they redefine "unlimited". Now they're back to redefining "speed" again.

Or redefining "service".

It's time to open source or build an ad hoc wireless network on the sly.

they could always, you know, extend the network and build it up to

There's some physics and frequency limitations here from what I understand. Damn...where is Marlowe with the correct answer when you need him :laughing

Sprint. At least for now.

Yep. $70 a month with unlimited. 4G EVO is fast and great. Screw ATT.Destroyed my iphone. Got the EVO. Happy now. Got tired of not getting cell reception inside my place in Burlingame. I love Apple but ATT just plain sux. I think the android system is awesome too.
