Been a year or thereabouts, knee injury and some complications but the last few weeks I've been able to work on it (no air bench) so changing the oil and filter was an adventure ( old fat guy ) getting down was ok but getting back up was interesting, anyhow did the valves, pulled the airbox, installed a jet kit with K&N pods installed a four degree advance timing rotor, manual can chain adjuster, a big ass storage box, manual petcock and a few other goodies.
It was just the best thing being on the bike even if it was just across town.
The ZRX is just like riding a BIG electric motor if you leave it in second at a stop it doesn't care.

For all the folks that want to say be careful because you're rusty or whatever yea I know but I did celebrate 50 years of riding this May and while I'am not rusty I'am a little CRUSTY,.

Most of the parts came from ELS ( expensive lightweight shit ) Pete is on the ZRXOA site if you have a ZRX there is much knowledge there as well as a lot of good natured joking much like here. :ride:ride:ride

Glad to hear that you have been able to work through those injuries. :thumbup
That's a tough hurdle to jump.

Good to hear Injun!

man I so want a ZRX, I'm jelly.
glad to hear your back on the bike
enjoy the ride

Glad to hear your back aboard! Congrats!

I know how you feel; I've been mostly down for almost 2.5 years now w/just a few rides "around the block" testing the 02' ZRX1200. Mine's got some issues just needing money (brakes/suspension) so I haven't been riding. Previous owner kept it clean, but didn't do maintenance (valves/etc.) apparently so I have mostly the same stuff needing done.

But my bigger issues are also old man health issues which is the primarily issues, & why I've not been aboard something. 52 years riding here too! :teeth I'll get to it someday; I will never quit riding if I can help it. I just need to get better & get the cash for mods. :thumbup

Glad to hear someone else is getting back to it.

Oh, & Tuxumino. Join the ZRXOA (Free) & keep your eye on the used ZRX's for sale, and the Parts for Sale Forums. Been lots of bikes going by this summer. Saw an 1100 that went for $1K, & another that was parted out for the same $$$. Saw several 1200's that went as cheap as $2.5K w/most of them @ $3K. Easy to find these days; one was for sale on here earlier this summer; I think it got sold...

Found what you may be looking for. In the Moto for Sale Forum of the ZRXOA.org, is a 03' blue ZRX1200 going for $1700. Was posted today; & likely won't last long at that price. It's in San Diego (fly down/ride back) & looks a bit rough, but you can fix it up cheap.....go for it....:teeth
