BARF AMA Awards 2023

As an AMA Chartered Club El Capitan I shot out a couple of awards to some people that I respect and value mucho.

First one is our Service Award. Given to a member that is providing a great service to BARF.

The recipiant is Map8
He has been providing the Couch Racers Corner so much awesome content for years.

We have had a few guys provide the MotoGP threads over the years.

but Map alway brought the other stuff. WSBK, MotoAmerica and Flatrack too.
He has been doing MotoGP for a couple years now too. As a huge race fan I sincerely appreciate all of the effort

Add in his awesome Moderating efforts and you have one BARF MVP!
I really love his dry humor too... provides a lot of smiles for me.

The Second is the Safety Award. Which goes to a member who is making a difference in Moto Safety of course!

This is going to Doc Wong.
Doc has providing group rides/ riding clinics that are instructional based for decades. He does specialty seminars too touching on many different elements of riding or tech stuff for riders.

When you say you're riding the Wong Way it means something and he is a well known Riding Advocate that we are lucky to have here. Tens of Thousands of Riders have benefited from Doc's efforts.

We asked how Wong dared to run a clinic of this kind on public roads in today's lawsuit-happy society, and he just shrugged it off. After talking about how he wasn't the kind of person who got sued, and that "The benefit to the riders who attended the clinic outweighs the legal risk," he reflected a bit longer and said, "Yeah, it's a risk. And I'm taking it."

Spoken like a true motorcyclist.

Good on ya Map8, I too enjoy the racing threads. I’ll be looking for that sense of humor.
I was fascinated that some guy did riding clinics when I moved to the bay and eventually attended. Thanks Doc.
