There will be a little down time. I'm trying to keep that under 24 hours. And there have been several "practice runs" going on the in background in efforts to keep the down time to a minimum.

Xenforo is a better forum platform that many forums have moved on to. Vbulletin has sucked for many years now, so we're moving on to something new.

There's a bunch of great new features and its easier to use. I'm sure we'll have plenty of Q&A thread on the new site for help.

i feel like at least i was part of the real motorcycle hype of the 06-08 Global Economy Crisis, i bought a bike cuz the cost of ownership per mile was .11 cents

fast forward to 2010's and 2020s era and it just aint the same no mo
 
Speaking of that, is there a difference in cost to the site whether an image is uploaded vs hosted elsewhere and embedded?
 
I assume at some point it becomes a bandwidth issue.

I have told Insyder $$ be damned we need to allow bigger pics to keep the kids happy. We will shake and bake accordingly at the time that we face that.

I am a fan of embedding for historical reasons as people lose or stop their photo sharing sites and we lose some really good stuff. I probably am the only one that notices, but I do so.... I care about it.
 
Really looking forward to uploading pics straight from my phone. I have to take a screenshot of the pic to make it happen now.
 
Is that because xenforo has a resizing tool built in and you don't have a resizing app on your phone, but screenshots match the screen resolution of your phone which also coincides with reasonable posting sizes here..?

This is one of the few sites that I have issues with uploading pics. No idea on sizing or native apps or any of that stuff.
I'm aware that I can manipulate my pics to adhere to BARF's requirements but that's an extra step (or two) that I rarely take. Right now I either send 'em to my pc and then upload; or try a screenshot which doesn't always work.

Perhaps I'm mistaken in my belief that things will change with the upgrade.

For sure all the legacy threads etc.

Insyder needs to confirm PM's, but I am confident that all that will still be around.

We definately need to figure out how to add a :twofinger etc. The smilie list is small and the :p in particular will screw up lots of posts.

I think this is pretty important too. Legacy Barf has a special place in my bleeding heart. I hope it's possible to preserve it. Much thanks to Budman and Insyder and any others involved. You guys rock.
