BARFTRON HOMEBASE

I am not great at killing people with guns/rockets while flying the chopper but I am great as a support pilot. If I get a willing gunner, I can make some killer strafing runs. I'm getting comfy with the jets, I used to play a lot of flight sims. I got flares wich helps with the getting shot down stuff. I got a few machine gun kills last night by staying out of sight until they started to chase norcali lol

I'm really close to getting my infrared scope for the sv98, that with the straight bolt is really going to make that thing devastating.

I have kinda taken the role of team lookout while sniping. I make an effort to mark every enemy I see before attempting a kill shot. once I get the MAV, it's going to be awesome! I will spend The first part of every scout spawn using the recon drone for the team.

I, too, wish I knew how to fly. I'm only good for one thing. Running in, guns blazing. I'll even C4 myself if that's what it takes to blow up a tank. Other than that, I don't have much to offer :/

BTW: does anyone know an effective way of joining a game with MORE than 4 people? Let's say there are 6 people who want to play, but a squad can only hold 4. Is there a way those other 2 people can automatically follow us into the game and put us on the same team? Or do they have to join manually?
 
If you join session in progress though friends list, it will try to put you in the same squad, then same team or just in the game if nothing else works.

I'm trying to find a way to post my battlelog profile in my signature, anyone find a link that works for anyone to view battlelog profiles, even if they aren't members?
 
It's tough to join games as a squad!

Ace Combat guy here myself - (which reminds me, Factor5, did you ever finish those AC-6 achievements?) - so I am relatively well versed in dog-fighting and flying on a console game. I unlocked the air-to-air missles last night - so we'll so how those go today. (new map before I could equip them...)

And I still can't log in to the battlelog thing... which I was able to for the beta, so I have no idea what the deal is. I'll try their tech support when I actually have some time, which I won't until tomorrow night.

As for helicopters n' stuff- I'll just be happy to have a squad jump in the little bird or whatever with me and quickly drop in on a point before the other team can get there. I think we'd completely dominate because I have seen little evidence of coordination on the servers yet. I'd also like to see a helo pilot hug the ground when going from place to place- harder to & shoot down from a distance.

I've finally got used to the kinda awkward system they use for controlling the tanks! I love killing other tanks. It's my thing.

Does anyone know if they're planning on getting hardcore up and running any time soon?
 
I love low altitude maneuvers. The key to the helicopters is to understand a bit about their physics. The right stick functions as your cyclick (controls the position of the rotor system, think of it as a disc that tilts) and understand that this game is unique that the cyclic and rotor system doesn't naturally return to center, it stays where you left it. Left stick are anti torque pedals (tail rotor that controls what direction the nose faces) and triggers are collective (rotor blade pitch, altitude control) and at neutral the ship will not maintain altitude.

PC version has hardcore mode. whats awkward about the tanks? always thought they were fine. protip, hope between first person and 3rd person while in tanks often to check your periph, helps catch guys dropping c4 on ya

I do that in all vehicles. I fly the choppers in 3rd person 90% of the time. Jets are 3rd person unless I am lining up for a machine gun flurrie at another jet.

I'm with SuperSix, I can rock the tanks and AFVs. Call me Michael Wittmann. I actually flew a chopper pretty well last night until something shot me down.

This game absolutely sucks playing with strangers. No mics, no cooperation, no coordination, no goals, just a bunch of jerk-offs running around trying to get kills in Rush or Conquest. Fuckwits!

I joined a game with Angryman and Killaddin, playing against them and some of Killaddin's crew, gotta say they found an exploit. I moved up through the lower locker room in Metro and they just started spamming nades at the fatal funnel we had to come through. Even if you unlock two nades each later, they still had too many nades. Resupply?
 
after getting pissed at dumb team mates, i revert to playing team deathmatch. at least there i dont care about shitty teammates
