* Press the Xbox Guide button on the controller to enter the Dashboard.
* Sign out of Xbox Live by pressing the X button.
* Select the System blade.
* Select Console Settings and press the A button.
* Select Clock and press the A button.
* Change the date to 11/15/2005 and press the A button to accept.

(Keep in mind you need to disconnect from live in order to change the time or date)

I had the exact same problem....Open NAT type on Black Ops and every other game....yet couldn't connect to the "EA Server" for shit! Maybe 1 out of 10 times I could actually get on...probably just like you. So....I got myself a new wireless router = problem fucking solved.

It's the modem 'braski. You've just gotta call your ISP and bitch that your connection is too slow....request a better modem, they should get one to you.
