Battery Replacement - Recommendations?

I have a lithium battery in my 450 and it is awesome! Weighs 13 ounces and has a quick disconnect plug. Well worth the money.

holy giant plug batman! you could power a forklift with that connector

picked up a shorai for my sms630 to lose ~9lbs from the top of the bike. so far, awesome. these actually power UP as you crank the bike over. the heat generated by the draw actually boosts the power. buddy has a high comp 944 motor in his duc and you hear the bike crank faster and faster as he struggles to start it :p

I have a Turn Tech battery (lithium iron phosphate) in my bike and it's been great. The original battery used to have trouble starting the bike when it was cold (even brand new), but this one cranks it over, no problem.

Ended up getting the battery from CG (the one with lifetime guarantee) and a battery tender for when I am not riding for more then a couple of days. The tender is the floating kind where I can just leave it and it will not charge if the battery is fully charged.

Thanks for all the comments. Very helpful. I can always count on BARF :)

Yeah it has a big ass connector on it, but also the battery is incredibly small. Over a year old now and it has yet to even feel sluggish when starting. The bike is fuel injected and electric start with a 13.1:1 compression ratio.

The CG battery is hit-or-miss in my current experience with them, but one of the constants seem to be that they're not the best at handling the load of starting a cold engine. The lifetime warranty is great in that you can just bring it in and have it replaced, no questions asked, but it would've been a lot better to have that warranty because you should never have to bring it in to be replaced. I've brought in two faulty batteries already not so long ago.

Since there's a CG a couple of miles from my house, I'm giving this third one the last chance, but if it craps out again, I'm getting the Ballistic battery.

HF also sells float chargers. Had mine for about 8 yrs no problem. When I lived in Tahoe, it would be on the battery all winter long.
