Best anti fog helmets

My helmet visors don't fog up but my glasses always do. I installed the Respro mask in my shoei rf1000 and since then, have not had any issues, even in the rain with all my vents closed.

I've tried a bunch of different lids. My favorite (and the one I've been using for years now) is the Shoei X-11. I too have never gotten a better fit (not even close) from any other helmet. It's the perfect shape for my head, it's got cheekpads that don't change in thickness and tightness (cough* Arai *cough), it's also one of the few lids that's top of the line with the Long or Intermediate Oval headshape...so it's light and has all the best features.

If you've got a long oval or intermediate oval headshape, and you're an XL like you said before...get a hold of Dan (hitman) he's selling an XL X-11 Kagayama in new condition :thumbup

The X-Eleven is the most expensive street model Shoei makes, but for those of us with oval heads, it's so worth it! :teeth

I use the RF 1000. I rolled twice with it on (sort of in dirt) and it saved my head from some gashes--the main thing was that it didn't shift around on my head because it fits flawlessly. Didn't affect foam either so it's still good to use! :)

As far as fogging, I use the nose bridge (?) thing that is supposed to come with helmets along with the chin cover thing too. If you're careful and don't breathe heavily out at lower speeds, you'll be just fine. I find myself breathing pointing my mouth down (sounds weird) at stop lights to prevent fogging. No biggie.

I really want to try/use the x-11 and see how, if any, much of a difference that is. I could always use a second helmet--i sometimes hate having the Cardio headset attached to my helmet with the mic inside. Feel's claustrophobic.

i've heard great things bout them, but when it tried it, the velcro wouldnt stick to either my suomi or hjc.

or maybe i'm just installing it wrong?

Dunno, only used em in Arais. The side wing velcro sticks to the cheekpads just fine. You did stick the front center velcro into your chinbar didn't you? I cut a slot in mine to match the chin bar vent so I still get air to my mouth.

You have to adjust em up and down a few times to get the fit just right, it needs to be tight enough across your nose and cheeks to seal well, but not too tight that it is uncomfortable.

Doubtful. I know they don't adhere to the Scorpion cheek pads, so it may be the same way with Suomy or HJC. I've settled on using anti-fog disposable wipes, and reapplying them every two days. Mildly annoying, but they're effective enough to make it worth the effort.

For my helmet that doesn't have anti-fog treatment, I just buy those $0.99 wipes at Cycle Gear and apply that. They usually last 5-6 days. Can't beat that shit. :D

ive been using that for a couple of weeks now and it works.

i have a nexx x30 helmet which fogs up terribly (worst helmet ive ever had in regards to fogging up) and the clarity stuff works.

i've been riding every day in the rain and storms that we've had and with the clarify stuff it my faceshield doesnt for fog up, even when stopped at a light. also it takes longer before the shield gets that blurry effect that you get when you normally use an antifog of some sort.

previously i was using the scott's anitfog, which didnt work anywhere near as well as this one.

and no, the fog masks and fog city insert dont work on my helmet...

I have one. My helmet that isn't antifog fogs up whenever I wear them together. The hot breath has to go somewhere. Usually it comes up and out by the eyes.

Yeah, that tingle you get when the hot air escapes by your eyes is annoying and takes some getting used to. What helmet do you have that sucks at anti-fog? Cause the X-11 isn't perfect at it on a cold, damp day, but with this little bit of help (not breathing hot air directly onto the shield) it's good to go.

I use two different shields with my X-11. One is clear with a Pinlock and the other is tinted without Pinlock. If I don't use the Pinlock shield, I get fogging almost instantaneously regardless of what insert or head cover I use. The only thing that fixes it relatively well are these...

Hmm, I only get fogging on my non pinlock X-11 shields when it's colder than 70 and or foggy/damp outside. Even then, I only get it going slower than 30mph and when the visor's not in the "defog open" mode. If I put it into defog open and breathe lightly while stopped, it's fine.

On a side note, has anyone who uses Plexus regularly noticed a change in anti-fog properties on their visor?

That's what I meant, when it's colder outside. Besides, I can't crack my visor when there's fog or rain because then it gets on the inside of the mask and really fucks up my day. :laughing

my Shark RSX hook helmet never fogs up, when a car kicked up a rock and it hit my shield the coating started to peel contacted shark to buy a new one and they sent me one free of charge
