So, I am going to a fancy dress up dinner on sat night and need suggestions for a good non-alcoholic drink I can order. One of the people in our party doesn't handle the sauce too well, so I figured on skipping the usual drinks. Is there anything remotely so-phisticated I can order and not sound lame? "yeah, hi, Id like a shirly temple, please. Kthx." :laughing

It's at an upscale restaurant in da city. And yeah, water is my fallback plan :toothless
 
I like Martinelli's when I can't drink booze


But I wouldn't know much about sophisticated congregations :laughing
 
Go for the upscale fizzy water, like San Pellegrino. When asked if you want a slice of lemon with that, consider for a second, then ask: "Do you have lime?"

you can always ask for a 'virgin' bloody mary, colada or margarita...

or just go for iced tea, sparkling pear or apple juice if it's a 'champagne' crowd. ask the bartender for the 'designated driver' drink list... that's always good for a few cool points.
 
I order a Coke no matter where I am, fuck what other people think. But I think you could order a ginger ale without looking like too much of a schmuck.

Italian sodas are fun drinks. Italian mineral water if you don't mind the mineral taste.

Personally, I just order good 'ol Diet Coke. :)

it's just lemonade and ice tea but it looks like some exotic drink at a bar...
 
Tell the bartender that you are the designated driver and you should get free non-alcoholic beverages all night. You could also get a NADA-rita.
