bitcoins

Nah I don't think that's the motivation. All the members of barf couldn't move the needle on bitcoin's price if they all fully committed.
Its more irrational exuberance over the new shiny thing.

They've been wanting to monopolize this thread, telling people with opposing views to stop posting. They want to be the stars in this small pond, wanting people to believe they're getting rich

There's an ulterior motive there somewhere

People who dabble in crypto who don't have an ulterior motive don't sound like them

Let them have their riches and the torment that comes with it. The rest of us will be laughing as their Lamborghini's overheat in SF commuter traffic.

I get the resentment or disagreement that some have in this thread with some posters, but it would be nice to have some enlightening or valuable discussions on the topic of Crypto.

To those who come in and post about it being garbage or not liking the motivation of certain posters in the thread, you certainly have the right to your concerns or disagreement, but at what point is it beating a dead horse:deadhorse

I'd like to have conversations around what blockchain is doing that might add value to companies, business, or us the people. Also, to discuss crypto and it's ups and downs in the market.

I'll start:

Winklevoss Twins' Fortune Doubles as Bitcoin Rallies

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...th-doubles-as-bitcoin-surges-to-18-month-high

for those who reach out to them for advice, they could well be sold on something else, like a ponzi scheme that also gives off the illusion to get rich quick

Yeah, my take on it is to let them post. The more they post, the more revealing it is about their values ...

If you can't generate a lively discussion on blockchain, it's not my fault. I think I already know how the participants of this thread feel about crypto trading right now. Talk about beating a dead horse

Hey, for every post, there is a reaction. I'm just catching up with articulating my reactions. Long overdue.

I see it as perpetuationg the problem, not building a valued discussion on the topic. If doubting the intentions of posters and vigorously poo pooing the main topic counts as valued discussion you get a trophy.

I've posted good information that could give you ammunition to a discussion and you don't react to any of those posts, you've shown your dislike of some of the posters intentions. Like you stated, a few people on BARF aren't going to manipulate the crypto market.

Here I'll give you another jumping off point:

Square’s Cash App is launching bitcoin deposits

The thread does not need to be linear. Several discussions can take place at the same time. We can handle it

I don't need to be interested in your articles or what you post. Thus resulting in the non-reaction

Conversation means that you make statements and rebuttals to another person's statement.

Posting a link on the internet is to conversation as masturbation is to babies.

All this arguing is causing BTC to drop again. Back under 11k.

Seriously though, as the guy who usually bumps this thread when there is a significant change in the price, I enjoyed hearing everyone's thoughts. I don't feel anyone has tried to sell me on anything either. The main proponent of the currency in this thread is pretty clear about saying, "Play at your own risk" IMO.

Funny comment by some idiot talking head yesterday. 'Bitcoin is rising due to investors leery of the equity markets making a flight to safety.' :rofl

Nothing safer than an 'investment' backed by zero assets, traded with limited transparency, and prone to double digits percentage swings in value on a daily basis. So safe.

If I had 20k I didn't care about I would play with btc when it was under 5k.

A link that is concerning the topic is part of the conversation and it relays information relevant to the topic. Just as linking to a new bike release is a conversation starter in "General".

I'll bite the obvious bait to help with the "conversation".

Twitch is a large gaming community that is owned by Google. By offering crypto as a form of payment that spreads the scaling of this non-asset backed commodity.

Similarly, with a billion dollar payment processing company like Square offering Bitcoin into their app, this gives users additional options when making payments.

It's nice to see more payment options related to crypto and easier ways for people to utilize the digital currencies.

To me, it looks like everyone and their grandma is building their own blockchain for whatever foreseen profitable business reason and have their own crypto built in. Decentralization is right. Want to speculate purely on the currency? There's a market for that. Want to buy more stuff? There's a place for that. I doubt it very much that there will be a leading digital currency that will make all others obsolete. At least not in my lifetime.

No, the argument in this thread has been, are the 2 bitcoin enthusiasts with a sales pitch really amassing bitcoins in hopes that they will be filthy rich or are they just saying that and are trading just to catch the peak periods to sell and let the suckers hold the bag when it goes down? I bet they took a sales training class cuz it sure sounds like they have the jargon nailed down to make buying an urgency (e.g., current fiat currency is in crisis, exaggeration of numbers/statistics, you're gonna miss out kinda talk, they have a method to profit). The tone of their posts (in totality) are such that they can't be believed.

This is enough for me to believe that they have misled some people and they are indifferent to the consequences (pg.143)

I asked you to stop because you trolling. You adding no value to the conversation. Actively attacking myself and “one other” surrounding ours views. You discredit us and post complete BS quotes out of text. That conversation between Byke and is a perfect example of your trolling.

You’re painting me as someone that is trying to financially take advantage of people without knowing me or proof of such action. You tried this before and the community told you what’s up yet you continue.

You take stuff out of context from other threads and apply it here and within the stock thread.

We’re not monopolizing anything. We’re here to chat crypto you're here to warn others and paint members of this forum in a horrible way.

At this point you’re violating the TOS.

If memory serves me right they own Gemini. I’m sure they’re loving life right now however they’re most the money from fees on their site.

Of course the rise of btc is going to help them. What I find interesting is how shit coins have rallied. A lot of them are making bigger moves than btc.

I’d like to see voting and blockchain tech merge. It’d also be cool to see it in the medical field. Gone are the days of SS cards which would add more privacy.

Finally! They started expecting payments last year. Good to see them excepting btc.

Coinstar accepts cash to btc. I used one last night and there was actually a line to buy. Those fuckers took 14%!

Soon we’ll be paying taxes with crypto, maybe.....
