Yes but at one point it was over $60k and people were smashing their piggy banks to buy more thinking it was on its way to $1M.
Now it’s being pointed out here that you can do currency conversions across borders which I thought was a selling point from the start, and for any crypto I’d assume. If so does that mean they’re all going to $1M.
Maybe my assumptions are wrong. I haven’t made crypto my religion so not living and breathing its every application.

My brother continues to not respond to my messages since bitcoin dropped by half. I literally tried my best to stay on good terms with him but he's probably ashamed since he was super hyping it. My dad heavily encouraged him to sell a little but he's a hold to $1M guy. Dude has nothing going on in his life so I can imagine how he feels but you think I'll ever get an apology? Not likely.

TLDR my brother has no education past high school, works for my Brother In Law, does an OK job, no motivation to improve or move up. He's a Q supporter, Trump supporter (Despite being Canadian) and anti-COVID believing. He started investing in Bitcoin and made a bunch of money on paper which is good for someone of his financial means. SO he starts messaging me constantly, mocking me for not MORTGAGING MY HOUSE so I can buy bitcoin, I should buy this coin, that coin, etc. I decided to humor him, and not mock him or question anything he says because his responses are only mocking or being hurt.
Then Bitcoin halves and he stops responding to all What's App messages (the only way we communicate) despite me not saying SHIT about BC.

No one knows. You are just being silly. Now what I do have is conviction. So much so that I will gladly put up or shut up. I got a grand that says we are at 100k within 3 years. And I want 1k in bitcoin in todays price. Thats .02991632 btc. You get your preferred medium (if you win) and I get mine.

It sounds like you think conviction is an admirable quality. Without a compelling argument it's not. If I'm certain that the coin I flip will come up heads and am right, I'm still a moron.

This thread is full of doubt and bitcoin naysayers. There are 176 pages of the "It's fake money" crowd and they say there is no value. The one thing you can say as a fact is the value of bitcoin has risen steadily for over 10 years. Take that as you will.

Went under $30k and is still there.
It's not clear what the Delta variant has to do with it's price.
It's going to take another big name deep pockets name to prop it back up again. I wonder what all of those people who jumped in at over $60k are thinking these days?

for sure its a gamble but the reality is.... its constantly gone up and a LOT.
I think until bitcoin becomes something a can use regularly or easily to purchase something its gonna stay around where its at.
I've used bitcoin to purchase ZERO things.... ZERO. How ever I did almost use $5000 of it when it was sitting at $60k but even then it was gonna take me a moment to figure out how to send it from 1 wallet to the other.
