bitcoins

Right. Early adopters will be fine. That's how a Ponzi scheme works.

You are ignorant of this tech, that much is apparent. You should educate yourself instead of disparaging something you obviously know nothing about. This is far from a ponzi scheme.

I'm not following. My understanding is that the fork means everyone wins. The problem is the developers have to work overtime to keep up with all the forks. I believe this is a developer issue and not an investor issue. Most investors I listen to are all for the fork cause they make money. Well at least they were all for it earlier in the week and now they're all against it.

The fork is not free money. Bitcoin would have dropped in price whatever the fork was gonna be worth. Bitcoin cash is now going up because this last fork failed. This new fork was potentially going to take market share from both.

You are ignorant of who developed this tech and its ultimate purpose.

Who cares though. Just make dat cheddah bros! Keep fiddling while Rome burns.

My guess is he is into conspiracy theories so his technocratic overlords are doing it to control the masses. Lol

You guess? Ha!

As an ignorant casual observer of crypto currency's rise in popularity, my gut says it feels a bit like "money from money" or "money from nothing." When the advocates on the board put down other members for bringing up the ponzi scheme feel of the popularity rise, it just makes it seem a little shadier.

Entoptic, You have a bit of a history on the board of being a hustler. Wasn't GoPro your call? Forgive me if I'm wrong but I also remember you talking about wheeling and dealing with mini bikes when they were popular. Good for you, nothing wrong with a side hustle. That is the capitalistic game we play in this country. When you come on the board to promote a somewhat strange not completely transparent new investment opportunity, well you can't be too surprised about some skepticism. Maybe you just want your internet friends to get rich with you or, maybe you have a profit motive for yourself. Nothing wrong either way, I'm just trying to point out how some of this can be perceived, at least by a bumpkin like myself.

Feel free to laugh when you drive by my in your Lambo. :twofinger

if this OP includes block chain, I would like to discuss this a 'bit' (lulz...I'm so punny).

did anyone catch vice news about it?

https://news.vice.com/story/the-tech-that-powers-bitcoin-could-tackle-corruption

seems to be a two-sided coin (hahahaha): 1) must give access to your cpu to join the chain, and 2) creates so much transparency that corruption is almost impossible.

did I get that right?

:laughing

Block chain does the exact opposite of this...

With my limited understanding, the appeal of crypto was it is a way to fuck the banks. I'm down with that. I really think big banks, and maybe even to some extent central banks in general, are a way to rob the working man thru inflation and fractional reserve banking. I know that is a big can of worms and a different topic but I thought crypto was at least interesting because it seems like an alternative to that structure. While the speculation around crypto feels like a bubble to me, maybe the core principles of it are good? Too early to tell?

Crypto is low hanging fruit and encourages tech adoption

The rest of the tech is a way to democratize the internet. (In a nut shell)

Yer spot on. I like the hustle and that GoPro call was one of many bad calls I’ve made. With that being said I’ve also made plenty of good calls as well.Crypto is legit and I’m already aligned with a crypto tax attorney that will assist me when it comes time to pay the piper.

You can also sit shotgun in my Lambo!

Personally I am very interested in seeing where block chain will go. Hopefully there will be adopting because I do think it has potential. For example in voting.

Crypto currency I am on sidelines. Didn't get early enough, and I don't think fundamentals are there to drive it's value.

What Vitalik is doing/trying to do.with ethereum is what got me interested. Most of my money is in Ether and I mine for it as well. I've got some money in Litecoin and a small amount in Bitcoin.

Very very interested to see where this goes. If every dollar I put in disappeared, I'd be just fine. Meanwhile, if it took off, I could buy my family a free vacation to Europe. But, my personal investment is intended to be long term and I'll buy more as time goes on.

^ I am jealous that you guys have enough fun money to play around in speculative things like trading bitcoins. I have never really felt secure enough to goof off with a few grand that I wouldn't mind losing.
