bitcoins

I’m up 10% on the $1k investment. Of course I’d have to sell to get that. But not going to. BTC probably reach 10k by end of the year?

Now this is what I like to see. Meaningful conversation. This weekend it seems most folks are not going to be around because of the holiday so maybe we can have another meet up next Saturday the 2nd of December? Also I will be attending a crypto enthusiast group in San Leandro on December 7th if anyone is interested.

A new all time high for eth! I'm holding long term, but it doesn't hurt when I just made a bunch of money in the short term.

Rumor has it bhc to the moon this weekend. I’m already locked in at .015 btc and await the next lift off.

Rumor also has it eth is going to pop soon but I’ve heard that rumor for the past two weeks. Good to see it slowly moving north.

Again from the technicals, didn't think eth would pop like this so quick. I'd except a small pull back and of course the old pressure becomes the new support, so buy more if it dips close to $400. Something's wrong if it goes below that. Or just buy anytime because it's probably going to keep blowing up until it reaches near-bitcoin levels of unobtanium. Maybe I need to look whatever these wallets are and start playing along..

Bought 1 ETH last night at $411, it's at $460 right now. Can imagine having a ton of assets to play with this would be some nice ROI.

I imagine it'll pop and drop below $400, then level off around $420-$440.

My mining has been made a lot more profitable with this surge.

I'll buy some more if it drops below $400, as well. Already got a good amount of eth when it was just below $300.

It tested $400 a couple times and broke out on the third, exactly what you'd expect with higher lows, an ascending triangle. The previous resistance becomes the new floor, so it shouldn't dip below $400 unless some negative news pops up. If it did, you'd probably short it, but I don't know if that's even something you can do with crypto's.

For a noob, can you do everything you need with Coinbase? You can buy/sell Bitcoin and Ethereum(others?) through their platform and transfer funds to/from your bank account?

You can buy/sell and transfer USD to your bank with Coinbase. Though the exchange only handles Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin.

I would not recommend keeping funds in Coinbase, as an exchange is the most insecure place to store crypto. Coinbase does not give you access to your private key, as software wallets do.

I use a hardware wallet, which is arguably the most secure way to store crypto, though less convienent than Coinbase or a Software wallet.

Also, if you're day trading, I imagine a hardware wallet is not worth the transaction fees and complications, but perhaps a day trader could answer that more accurately.

So you need an exchange to buy/sell crypto's, ideally one that deals with a wide range of currencies, then you need a secure place to store cash/crypto(crypto only?), preferably using a software wallet for small amounts and hardware for larger amounts?

That's my preference.

Really, a hardware wallet acts like a software wallet, but you have a physical device that acts as a key to allow access.

So to authorize sending currency, or to check in on your account, you need the physical device. I use a nano ledger s. Some folks will buy multiple hardware wallets to store different types or amounts of crypto.

I use a different software wallet to send my mining payouts to and then send them to my hardware wallet after some accumulation.

I'm day trading and use a hardware wallet. I take a percentage out and day trade. Once I hit a certain amount, I then transfer back weekly lots to my hardware wallet.

Hardware wallet is a safe but slow choice.

Coinbase is a hybrid wallet and decent. I believe they offer vault services as well.

Wow BTC to the moon right now!
