bitcoins

Thats every investment.

No it's not, because most investments are supported by an asset or assets. Bitcoin is not supported by anything other than the fact that people currently think it's worth $X. It's not an investment. It's a currency.

Bitcon is not a crypto "currency". It, along with the hundred other digi-coins out there, are crypto assets. Huge difference... and Peter Schiff explains it well:

Yeaahhh, a lot of people would disagree with him.

Except currency is backed up by government and used to buy/sell shit. Bitcoin is a vaporware. Not really used for purchasing, except in underground market, and people buy it because they think it will be worth more. Because?

Eh I looked in to amazon, homedepot, what you actually do is use egifter to buy a gift card and then spend it at amazon or homedepot. Pretty sure others are similar.
What does egifter does with bitcoins? I bet tries to unload them asap to get $ given volatility of bitcoin in relationship to $.

OKCupid stopped accepting bit coins. Even then I would use that term loosely as it was using Coinbase which charged 1% transaction fee and converted it in to real money.

So yeah I would say my statement was pretty accurate.

these highs might be short lived

I have been hearing about this for a while now, I think last year they announced. I'm starting to hear about it again which could imply they go live soon.

What I think you are referring to is Ripple. At least 75 different banks have adopted the Ripple platform already. Their token is XRP. Currently it is around .23. The difference with Ripple is that all tokens have been mined. Simply put the banks are accumulating them as a hedge and using the platform to make bank to bank transfers faster and using the block chain to record the transactions.

Just an FYI, if you sign up for Gatehub, they give you 20 XRP for free. Or at least they did for me when I signed up a while back.

https://ripple.com/xrp/buy-xrp/

I don't know if other platforms do the same thing, but it's an easy way to at least get some XRP.

Anyone heard about this case?

I remember that interview. I don't know how the case ultimately worked out though.

Honda- Ive got a few thousand XRP already so having to sign up for another account for 20xrp would be silly. Thanks though. If I didn't have mine already I would definitely jump on that offer. Everyone on barf should. Its free money. Literally.

Hey check out this video and tell me what you think

Sooo......I can use bitcoin to pay my mortgage with my
Credit card?? Sweet!

yeah I saw it. By some of the references it looks old, and I wonder how many of those cafes still except it. Also the part about minimum charge of 25 dollars is kind of telling. It's volatile! Also again with sites like expedia you first go to third party provider like Coinbase exchange bitcoin for $, then pay expedia.
By that logic my stocks are currency. I can go to UBS sell them, get $ and pay expedia.

Not a credit card yet that is being worked on. You can get a bitcoin debit card though and spend your bitcoins directly at any visa terminal for no charge. Bought my boys slurpies yesterday at 7-11. Total charge was $3.69. Whatever the price is in fiat, that monetary amount is taken out in bitcoins or whatever cryptocurrency you like. Shift card. I'll do a video of a transaction the weekend.

Nope. :twofinger
What you can do is buy acid on silk road, sell it at your school and make $$$. :laughing

Wrong my friend you are too biased it appears for a real discussion. There are ways to eliminate almost all the fees associated with crypto. You don't have to pay a fee when buying bitcoins. You don't have to convert them to cash before you can buy something. I cannot hold a stock and then buy something in dollars and have them take a portion of that stock as payment. You can with bitcoin and the "currencies".

Just because I disagree with your on Entropic on validity of bitcion doesn't mean I am "too biased to have a real discussion". :rolleyes

Not you or him has shown me that it can actually be used.

That long ass list he posted? I went through the trouble looking up some few more popular random ones. Guess what? None of them accepted bitcoins directly. It was either through that egift website, or they partnered up with a bitcoin exchange.

So instead of accusing me of being too biased or whatever how about you show me actual big business that accepts bit coins directly.
Even in that show Entropic posted. As soon as he tried to pay the bills people in support had no clue what he was talking about.

As it stands right now it's a fad/niche thing. Although blockchain probably has a lot of commercial potential, and there might be a ctypto currency in the future bitcoin in it's current iteration won't be it.

actually I listed 99 companies and can list another 99 if needed. You quickly dismissed it. I then posted a video and you again dismissed it.

You're bias to the point of fault as you look at with your American eyes. Stop looking at this like USD and start seeing it as a world currency.

You can pay bills with bitcoin.
