bitcoins

I would beg to differ. Anyone that states btc is going to zero obviously knows nothing about the technology and the country's allowing its use and proliferation. Btc will never be zero. It has a better chance of hitting 1 million than zero. It has its place. I have always said it will not replace fiat. Crypto has a place just like fiat. Those that think fiat will go away in our lifetime is delusional.

What specifically about the technology makes it unlikely to ever drop to zero? And please don't just link another article.

DOW down almost 1500 pts today so let's all go rub it in their faces in the stock thread!

Pretty much.

Every sour apple post in this thread is someone that did something for the wrong reason or wants to point out how they were superior for not taking a chance on something.

I'm almost to the point of unsubscribing from this thread.

I don't think it's rubbing it in anyone's face, it's about having your eyes open. Investing doesn't mean things go up forever, it's about timing and it's time to check out of btc and look at something else. Saying that seems to be confused with a hatred for crypto in general, dunno why. And yeah, that recession may finally be on its way, so the checkout or short strategy applies just the same.

I was thinking he must have meant down 1500 this "week" so I just checked, nope he meant today, DAMN.

That still brings it back to where it was only in Nov.

for me it's hard to put everything in type form and have the whole point come across properly. If you are buying based on what you are about to use you limit your downside like we are seeing now. I am not saying go blow your whole wad right now. Buy what you are going to use and you don't care what the price is because you are gonna spend it anyway. The coins I have had that I'm up multiple times on I don't spend. I collect more to spend daily or weekly.

That works perfectly in Venezuela!

You know me pretty well, so I'll say it like this..

The hypists in this thread seem full of shit and are simply repeating and cloning what they've read in articles. So most of us who are being critical, are simply calling them out on it.

I'm heavily invested since 2012 and got very lucky by simply being interested in it before the boom. Why I'm so critical in this thread is because I don't want new people who don't understand how the market works to fall into the others hype game. It's not a quick money scheme and it's not a market that makes a whole lot of sense. Whales own it, and push newbies into making emotional decisions with simple marketing. It's crazy risky, and hypists in the thread are negating that risk by deflecting rather than offering technical data.

With that said, miss you <3

Not sure if you consider me a hypist. I first bought BTC around $20 and sold just a couple months later :/ . I remember reading about it when it was pennies and was blown away by it. I bought back in middle of last year.

For me, my strategy is to hold, but I think the market is going to get hammered for the next couple of months while regulations and rulings to coming through.

Whether it is a month or a year, I believe the market will turn around. It always has, even during the 1+ year bear markets.

I guess I come to barf for personal perspective, not market analysis. So many arm chair geniuses here trying to compare fundamentals of Stock/Company performance with a cool new technology.

The worst thing that happened to this thread was it was named "bitcoin". So then we got through the whole process of "bitcoin <> blockchain" and we started talking about other coins and their uses. Then other needs / ways to apply blockchain and what we could do with it. Personally.. like as in ourselves or the companies we personally worked for.

Then the price started going up and the "get rich" theme started to over take the thread and now that it burst all the people that are anti-get-rich are here to say you shouldn't have been trying to get rich in the first place.

no shit. Can we get back to talk about something other than BTC and what it's doing today? Who cares. Rise or Fall, doesn't change the rest of what we were getting from this thread.

But if it's all that is going to be talked about, I'll opt out. There are other avenues I can read to see people hype and hate on each other.

Think of it this way, if we were on a beach watching the waves, or at a bar, would this be the only thing to talk about on this topic? Or would we say "Bitcoin took a shit, that sucks. Oh well" and move on with our day?
