I taped a bone conduction speaker inside my helmet and now music comes in through my jaw bone rather than fighting wind noise to get past ear plugs; see Attached. The audio fidelity is decent, it sounds like 96 khz mono. The Sena 10C speakers I have been using are only useful on their maximum setting, which is so loud that it leaks a long distance and worries me of additional hearing damage. I look forward to removing the Sena 10C system from my E1 helmet as it is heavy.

I tried a couple of bone conduction headphones but they would not fit in my helmet. This external helmet bone conduction speaker has very poor fidelity. I had worn a pair of Trekz Titanium headphones with a cheap helmet that had little padding and the sound fidelity was great, but I broke them taking off the helmet.

Thanks. I looked into this a few years ago, and it didn't seem promising. Interesting to see what you found that works.

The Shure's are great and for years the best bang for the buck you could get these days there is more companion in ear buds and better sound for the money can be had. Though the small size of the 215's make them the choice with a couple of helmets I have.

I use a helmet liner over the ear buds to make getting a helmet on with ear buds a breeze.

I have an Aeropex bone conduction headset and it works very well and rests on the temples - very comfortable for working out, walking, doing stuff around the house, but I notice it sounds like a phone BT speaker at times - great for podcasts or if you don't care about music quality.
Maybe it's not seated correctly on my head? I have tried listening to music but it doesn't get great midrange / bass so it sounds all tinny.

I would love to try something like this out for riding if I could get the music quality up - but even being able to listen to audiobooks / podcasts on slab rides would be great.

Wear ear plugs with the bone conduction headset for mid range and bass.
