boots for school

Great links.
I'm also looking for boots but am having problems finding Ladies size 36 in the stores.
I'll follow the recommended links now and hope for better luck!

Shortie boots provide like zero ankle protection. May just about as well wear sneakers. You need an 8" or taller boot (preferably 10"+)

Peena, FYI since I don't think it mentions this in the link that I included before, the boots I linked to are a little over 7.5" tall. They come up above my ankle...
That being said, I wear these other boots for highway riding and they're also really comfy, but I haven't tried walking around in them for an entire day - also not much more than $200 at the D-store (the shorter ones are Men's and these are Women's): http://www.kneedraggers.com/image_storage/c/42/c42af3d27c75348cca640eedbca82041_rough.jpg

(I'm not promoting kneedraggers - they just have the images that pop up first.)

I figured that out from the size 14. :teeth They have similar men's boots, but I can't say how comfy they are. PM sent.

Visit Stompers on 10th St between Folsom and Harrison
He has a wide selection of boots that will double for daily wear

I've been using the Dainese Atacama and they've been great. I can usually go the whole day wearing them. Although I still have my work shoes under my desk in case I need to dress up for a meeting.

I would wear these boots when I went to school

I would carry a dufflebag with a pair of tennis shoes. Put the boots in the bag and I'd still have enough room to put my gloves, overpants and binder.

I carried the empty duffel inside my backpack.

Now I have soft luggage on my bike and throw all my crap in there.

I have crashed twice, first time I was wearing these

I was only going about 15mph when a car ran a red light and I swerved and hit a curb, My ankle was all bruised and sprained.

Second crash I was wearing those oxtar boots. I came in too hot into a corner and ran wide into the gravel. I was going about 45mph and I slid all over my calf and ankle. No bruises or sprains and I was able to walk perfectly fine.

I swear by my Sidis, I also only have a bike for transpo and I also wear them all day while at school and walking around. Most people say that Sidis run narrow, I have found that to not be the case for me. Your best bet is to maybe make a run down to Sucuderia and try on what they have that fits your budget then walk or ride over to Cycle Gear(shudder) and do the same, I would also consider going to Motostrano and doing the same. With all three places you should be able to find something that fits both your feet and budget. If not then try a place like www.newenough.com if you still aren't sure get a pair of surplus jungle boots and up armour them to what ever level you like.:laughing
Good luck.

40 dolla boots for 40 dolla ankles. :thumbup

I never wear anything with laces on a moto, regardless. Lace + chain = potential for unhappy.

I have these setup boots that I got on sale a while back for around $80:

I found myself without other shoes more than a couple times and I could walk around with them no problem. They just kind of look like regular boots. I have used them all day at work. They have hard toe protection and some ankle protection but are not nearly as "stiff" or protective as my sidi corsas. I use them for commuting everyday or running errands, etc..

I also just bought a set of SIDI vertigo boots that I have only used once in the mountains. I guess I will get more used to them, but they are much stiffer and very hard to walk in/run errands in.

I own a pair of A*'s smx 4's.They are very comfortable and feel very protective. They also look good. You can find a pair at Road Rider
