I want some more hose around me. When i bought this pump from harbor freight it came with this great fucking hose that was very bendy, stretchy, and most importantly brake fluid proof. I cannot find it anywhere despite my google search history being full of hose.

I'm close to just buying another pump and throwing the rest of it out to get to that juicy tasty hose.

anyone? Hit me up with an amazon linky of known goodness!

I just use clear tubing from the autoparts store in the right ID to fit around the bleed nipple. I think it's rated for use with gasoline. Doesn't seem to have any issues with brake fluid.

I've used a bleeder on my cars, but with motorcycles I've only ever done it manually. Operate the lever or pedal with one hand, the bleed nipple with the other.

It’s just vinyl hose and can be gotten at most hardware and auto parts stores. Or McMaster Carr. Or any other of dozens of stores. Measure what you’ve got and buy the same. It should be in fractions of an inch.

Nope, this stuff has got good elasticity to it. More rubbery than plasticky. Also the vinyl stuff didnt seem to like brake fluid.

I always seem to have a spool of vacuum tubing kicking around on the bench. I've always just used that.

If it is just temporary hose for bleeding your brakes, yes go to the hardware store and buy some vinyl tubing that will lock onto the bleed nipple. If it is a permanent installation, there is a difference between hose rated for gasoline and hose rated for brake fluid. McMaster Carr sells both and I use both on my motorcycles.

I have also wondered. Tygon has worked the best in terms of maintaining elasticity but it still sweats brake fluid or moisture or something over time. Vinyl tubing turns hard and pretty much sucks. I wonder if clear silicone tubing would work.

Well, whatever I use has remained flexible over the years.

Sounds like you are describing silicone tubing.

Only use it for bleeding. I was in a pinch and used some between my reservoir and MC. Worked find but a few days later I noticed little beads of moisture on the outside of the tube. Seems it's permeable to brake fluid over time.

It's cheaper through MacMaster-Carr.

Something is cheaper through MacMaster-Carr?!!?

Fuel and oil yeah

Fill a piece of tygon with brake fluid and let it sit for a week. It will be covered in a liquid of some sort, still unsure what it is.

Tygon does make tubing that is brake fluid resistant, I use it as my rear brake's reservoir. It's clear, not the fuel yellow or blue.

Get some Speed Bleeders for your bike.... then buy the hose that will fit that connector.

Speed Bleeders!

O shit I need to buy some of this.

Clear chemical resistant stuff from McMaster Carr has been on my 500 rear reservoir to MC for about six years. It is still in perfect condition. I tried to look up my past orders on there to get their PN but it was too far back apparently and not showing up.
