BREAKING: AP Source: Lance Armstrong confesses to Oprah Winfrey that he used performa

Please. The Tour de France attendance statistics are a joke. They count everyone who comes out of their house to stand by the road and the estimates are hugely suspect. By your logic, World Series victory parades are one of the biggest sports in America...

It's not like I made the shit up. I googled when whomever dismissively claimed cycling attendance was a "rounding error" or whatever. This was the first link google returned. Didn't bother to get multiple sources. Nobody gives a fuck about facts anyway when you can bash away without 'em.

I did, however, watch Le Tour the last few years, and the US Pro Challenge, and my impression is that both are a big deal, especially the Tour de France with it's 100 year history and international fan base.

As always, Americans will give him a second chance, just like they did with Michael Vick, Chris Brown, and countless others. Hell, there's even plenty of people who are still loyal to OJ. All because such celebrities are famous and "cool". Had they not been celebrities, they'd be tarnished and avoided for life.

It's hilarious how people think we're so much more advanced than animals.

New Yorker recap of lyin ass Lance's big ass coming out party as a fuckin asshole liar

I'm curious, has Lance lied to you personally, threatened to sue you or beat you in a bicycle race? I ask, because your level of vitriol exceeds that of what we usually see about motorcycle thieves on BARF.

Normally I don't respond to this kind of inquiry because making it personal for any reason seems to encourage trollery.

I hate Lance because he is a fucking jitbag, is pretty much why.

In particular I hate that he deluded all so many goodminded morons who should have been willing to see the truth a long time ago.

Further I hate that he is such a scumbag liar that he put so much effort into defrauding the world, stealing wins glory and money, and ruining the lives or attempting to ruin the lives of anyone who knew the truth and tried to share as much.

In some ways I think Lance is a bigger asshole than any Wall Street Bailedout Banker, because while they are both monstrous liars who helped ruin the world, everybody has always known that Bankers are scum, but Lance tried to make people think he was Jesus

I'm not trying to troll you.

I haven't seen the interviews yet (am curious to, but don't know if I'll invest the time). From the excerpts I have seen and read, he sounds to be coming pretty clean on what he has done, how it has impacted others and he has acknowledged being egotistical, vindictive and to have believed his own myth.

It's still not clear why he is coming out now. Damage control may be a part of it, though it looks like it's going to be open season for a lot of lawsuits either way. Cleansing the soul? Stranger things have happened, but it's hard to swallow right now. His future behavior will have a lot to say about what his motives are right now.

Hey, I'm just stoppping in to ask if anyone can help me find a fuck to give. I've searched and searched and just can't seem to find one anywhere!

This article aligns with my thinking about why he's not truly sorry, and just doesn't "get it"

I saw some of the interview. He may have some facets of a psychopath but I still enjoyed watching him race and respect the effort needed to win that tour even once, dirty or clean.

Seems he won't have much problem living with his behavior but he is a fraud and should pay a price for that.

Its a brutal sport and I'll be watching again this summer.

I watch it, but every time I see those roads they pedal on I think how awesome those roads would be with a motor ...

2 more cycling scams:

1) Carbon fiber frames
If you're not sponsored, it's nothing more than conspicuous consumption. Those parts break frequently and are expensive. It's unsustainable. The only ones who benefit are the corporations... the same corporations who benefited from the Armstrong lie.

2) Gruppo scam
There is no difference between "Dura Ace" and "105". A few grams saved will not make you faster. The slower times post EPO/Test use proves it's the rider not the bike.

I'll forgive Lance if he goes on a more righteous path and expose the entire sham of a bike industry instead of trying to get back in it.

You are doing it wrong if that is your experience. :laughing I am assuming you had experience, otherwise you just repeating what someone else has said.

The phrase we are looking for is "Diminishing returns", some people can justify it. Good for them.
