Brian Garrahan of Garrahan Offroad Training is an Ebike Hater

PS I txt’d Brian and he said it was the pit riding….

Merlin if you want to process CC’s at the Timekeepers Coyote Creek event would love to have you volunteer for signups in early October

PSS I cheered for you when you came through S/F on one of your laps. I hope you appreciated that

True, that. I’ve met TwT too. We even rode like girls once.

Didn't WE ride dual sports together in Sonoma Country once? But your "dual sport" was a street bike with street tires? Was that you?! Twt might have even been there.

I don’t think so. I’ve rarely ridden in Sonoma county and never on a group ride. Perhaps our paths will cross at some point.

That's a broad assumption Byke, that also presumes Merlin's accounting of things is accurate. I'm not sure who you have or have not met in real life but I've met all parties involved, but while I have no personal interest in either, I have noted Merlin does not read the room when the room is pretty clear to all others involved.
Not an assumption, just stating my experience with such things. Plus, that was why I added the conditional statement of "assuming it's accurate of course". Maybe he said "mountain BIKE" while Merlin was running his mountain bike over with his ebike while laughing maniacally, then it would be inaccurate and nullify things.

Ummm… :laughing

Assuming means my experience might apply to this specific situation, but I don't know if it does. It's a really weird thing to yell.

The only thing of significance we have learned in this thread is;
- Byke, might or might not be inebriated, and yelling or not yelling at his neighbors up in the foothills. 🇺🇸
- TZrider is having an episode of “who are these people and why are they in my house.” 🤪
- Butch still writes checks, that can be cashed. 😆

Speaking of checks…. I was hanging out on the lake with my 18yr old nephew this past July, when I saw a VERY attractive age appropriate woman on another boat. I said quietly “Beat me, whip me, make me write bad checks.”

My nephew looked at me clueless, and completely missed the meaning.

Kids…. Now get off MY LAWN!

Don’t dwell on it too much Merlin. You got to race at Donner, and probably had fun during the race. Rare opportunity, Big picture.
A yearly D36 membership is good, even if you don’t race much. They are a voice in land issues, which we know is an issue here in California.
Heck, I stay current and haven’t done any events in a while.
Regarding cash vs credit. It costs money to accept CC’s, yes? I imagine there are a bunch of costs, permits, logistics involved in putting on an event. His plate was probably pretty full. Perhaps in the future, CC will be available.
I cannot remember if that option was there for enduros. Someone current would know that answer.

At district 36’s on site event sign in (The day before or evening) I always brought my checkbook and used it.
