Bridgestone Support for AFM NRS Program

Great to see the AFM creating programs to bring more racers to the club.

I have been traveling for work but wanted to encourage anyone who has honed their skills at trackdays and is ready to step up to racing with the AFM to get off the fence and give it a try. There are some terrific riders who've raced with the club for years and it would be wonderful to see some new names and faces to challenge the veterans. Don't get me wrong there is always great racing out there! Even if you don't plan on racing, you should come out and watch the show. As I've said before, $10 is a bargain for the level of riding and racing you can see at an AFM weekend.

Sonoma Specials:

Contingency:
Bridgestone put up $166,775 in AFM contingency for 2013, which I believe is the highest of any tire manufacturer for the club. Bridgestone even offers contingency in Novice classes! Riders like Manuel Hernandez, Bob Lazzarini, Eric Thompson, Dave Moss and others have been enjoying using the certificates received from Bridgestone JUST LIKE CASH against their tire bills. Trackside Support:
This year, we're working with ForTheTrack, the AFM General Products vendor and Michelin race tire support provider, so everything is under one canopy for your convenience. Need safety wire, knee pucks, gearing, fluids? Come by and see Paolo. Gary Paddock has worked with us for several years and provides quick turnaround for mount and balance, which is complimentary.

I cashed $550 out this week in certs. Novice classes are paid same as expert. It's really simple. Jeff ill see you this weekend, need a set of the new V-01 slicks.

I have been very happy with the grip and longevity of the current slick. We live in a time where tires offer amazing grip levels.

Any specials on the 165 slick rear for the SV guys? Does Bridgestone offer any other rears for those needing a 160 rear?

In race compounds you'll find the 165 slick (fits my 450 swing arm). No more DOT race tires in the 160 class (250GP as BStone calls it).

Jeff has deals at every AFM weekend and the 165 slicks run a bit cheaper than the 180 or 190 sets. I don't remember off the top of my head however.

Ya, really. Last year as a novice I won enough bridgestone money to have had a net cost of $0 for tires all year, and still had 2 complete sets of brand new slicks left over.
