Brutale 800 - New Bike Review

Great review!

I have a Brutale 910S (4 cylinder) and the 800 triple seems be carrying on in the same tradition: tiny proportions, big power, hard edged chassis/suspension/engine tune, glorious sounds and gorgeous design.

The smaller triple is only down 10hp and 10 ft-lb from the older four. The 3-exit exhaust is stunning.

Special motorcycles.

The worst aspect of this motorcycle (by far) is the gear box. The lever travel is longer than I'd like, and I get some false neutrals on downshifts that require a double clutch to rectify. I've never had this happen on any other motorcycles I've owned.

Possible that rearsets would mitigate this?
Thanks for the update. Glad you're still on two wheels (or one!) :ride

Awesome writeup! :thumbup

It sounds a lot like the Superduke--the throttle has two positions: On & Off. :teeth

I was tempted to go seek one out, but then I stumbled across the specs on the dead sexy Brutale Dragster. OMIGAWD.

Funny you say that, when you talk to most dealers they say "it's an acquired taste, most people don't like it." I've also heard them say "we don't have any on the floor since they never sell."

I mean they may not sell for the price tag but it is a beautiful bike. I love the looks of most Italian bikes so may I'm different. Currently riding a white 2011 Ducati Streetfighter, and it's beautiful.

I saw a dragster on my way to work this week. It was amazing to look at. That rear end is epic!

"it's an acquired taste, most people don't like it."

I don't think it's the looks of Italian bikes that take time to acquire. It's the funds, tolerance, and patience.
