What's your go to trick or magic sauce that removes dried on bug parts?

wet rag to rehydrate the carcass, and my fingernail after that

or, go ride more and see if you can get another bug to smash on top of the existing bug because they are their own solvent?

Hot water and soap

Wimpy electric pressure washer followed by hot soapy water and final rinse with wimpy electric pressure washer. Seems to work for most stuff stuck to my bikes except Baja road tar.

IF they are not too dry, hydrogen peroxide works great! They foam up and bubble just like a flesh wound. Does not harm plastic either. I live near the Suisun Masrsh along I-680 so I get a BUTT load of bugs almost all year long. Learned this from BMW MOA magazine "touring tips" column. Works great on faceshields, windshields, headlights, fairings etc. If they are fired on, as others sdried hot water. I also use Mr.Clean Magic Erasers. Nice and soft so they don't scratch the surface as far as I can tell.no

A dripping wet towel laid on the fairing for a few minutes to soften them. Then spray with a hose and they come right off. Warm water works the best. But cold water works.

I like hot water, personally. Soak a towel in hot water, lay it over the bug guts, let it sit for a while, wipe. Also just using Pledge works- spray a bunch directly on the bug and work at it and it'll come off.

Lemon Scented Pledge. Smells good, cleans good, protects good. Fuckin' cheap.

I do the same thing with my helmet visor. Soaking wet paper towel dripping with hot water. Lay it on for a few minutes to soften. Wipe. Plexus to finish.

Be aware that hydrogen peroxide is EXTREMELY corrosive to metals. It is a highly active oxidizer so make sure you rinse everything very very well after use.

This is my method as well. Works great.

One time ants attacked the bugs on my bike...best clean-up ever ! It took them a few days ;)

You could use club soda and pick if off

Lemon pledge is great. Spray on and let sit for 60 seconds or so.
