Rich, where did you get the filters?

i got them at Mission yesterday.

here are the part #'s
UP-4112 pod filter 12.95
UP-121 breather filter 14.95:teeth

thanx bro.

the UNI is really a good deal! the K&N "kit" was like $40+ and I still haven't received the damn jet yet from mail order. with just airfilter and no airbox the fiddy sounds a-w-e-s-o=-m-e on WOT! freaking loud don't need exhaust noise even.

on the gas cap and crank vent line I just put ne one way check valves. vents out but not in (no need) and looks trick. they're like $2.99 at CG.

want to get some of those clear in-line fuel filters and put them on too as cheap protection against dirty gas (dealers).

what could go wrong??? :loco

---- a bit more evidently

on hold with bbr direct for 10 minutes & get disconnected
call back get someone else who puts me back on hold! fark
get lost in phone system as it's a new one for them
finally get picked back up after thoroughly brainwashed by listening to their groovy new electric guitar music on hold :loco
sending back cable today hopefully for exchange.
they wanted me to go back through the mail order company but jeez louise can I get any breaks here it's brand new and obviously their product.

SO fug it. I'm going to order a new longer cable from twobrothers for another $23 while I'm at this. cuz this sucks donkeyballs. tbr also has a replacement plastic throttle for $25 vs. $70 for the fancy billet ones but holding off for now. just need the damn cable. just the cable and for this to work without any new kludges.

then again the already cracked bbr throttle will probably disintegrate anyways on the first dump. so better just order another throttle with the cable.

grumble.

---

impulse shopper here got one of those dual sparkplug holder things. well the 50 plug fits fine. the 230 plug don't. I don't even need this stuff do I? sending back for the one plug one holder container things. heck, just rolled up in a piece of cardboard like a tube and stick a piece a tape on it is just as good. nuts.

the RZ is pristine still!!! :blush

5/6 no bike running updates. it's race what parts gets here first, will be what gets running first ~

the TBR 50 throttle & cable vs. new main jet for the 230

mini vs. midi

which will it be!

It's ALIVE

then promptly died on me, 3 blocks from the house :(

but this is really a good luck story. so I get my new jet and needle holder from the good people at Motorcycles Unlimited in Corte Madera (plug! :teeth ) and button the 230 back up. vroomm thump thump thump thump - all is good in the world again!

I want to check out the lights and stuff so gear up and head out onto the highway. wow, this is great. the off road tires suck, the lights really suck (too low, 35w and vibrating like hell from the easy on/off straps), but I'm having a great time going all of 55 mph in the slow lane!

zip off by city college hang a U and get right back on the freeway to do a tunnel blast (motoman break-in method for me). slow wayyyyy down for the 90 degree right to exit, did I say how bad dirt tires suck for the street.

anyways right before I need to head up the hill for the garage - THE LIGHTS GO DIM THEN OUT AND THE BIKE DIES. huh oh. no cell phone. no tools. no nuttin' honey but three long blocks uphill. no way. ah shit, no locks, not even a steering lock.

fug it abandon ship and hurry home for the truck and hitch. and let me say I made it up the hill pretty damn good shape since quit smoking :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup

oops, hit return. ahh a novel anyways.

load up the bike (just parked next to the sidewalk and walked it up, no ramp needed like that it's the perfect height) and back to the garage. wondering wth happened, the BajaDesigns kit doesn't even have any fuses :confused

:lightbulb meter the battery and it's GOOD therefore = blown main fuse

pull that sucker and yep it's blown to smithereens all 7.5amp capacity of it. how weenie is that. so I figure it was either old or sub-spec and couldn't take the light load and stuck on a 10amp. I won't go higher than that but guessing that should do it. taped three additional spares for backup too.

key on, lights ON, e-button on
vrooommm thump thump thump thump thumbp :thumbup :) :banana

moral of the story: my luck continues (coulda' stuck on the freeway miles from home & cellphone) but no more riding the bike w/o phone, TOOLS, insurance (pushing the 30 days grace kinda') or registration (I put the fiddy OHV paperwork in a plastic bag and taped that to the B.D. rear fender so look like temp reg). nyuk nyuk yes this guy is a wiseass and too smart for his own good. oh yeah, and must MUST get DOT tires. for riding with these is almost suicide if need to make any evasive action.

yay though. the 230 LIVES!

I couldn't find a 121 at Mission or CG, but the 122 fits just fine. I definately notice my 50 is louder and little more responsive (also put a cr7HSA in). I am going regret this filter setup in the dirt though :)

get ya some filterskins or borry your girl's pantyhose to make your own (filterskins you sickos! kekekeke). that damn $40 k&n at least came with a big black filter baggie. the fiddy jet finally finally arrived too. I shoulda' just got the cheaper uni & skins like you did and ordered the jet from honda parts.

went to mom's today and hobbled over the 230. hopped on and said, "AAAHHH YYEEEAAAHHHH!!!" :teeth then got off to give the fiddy a sit too "whooooo HOOOO hey mom lookit me!" :cowboy :mstingray

she just shook her head...

hmm, pantyhose? Max, you are full of ideas.

I did switch all my dirt bikes to the no-toil stuff, since it bio-degradable, I'm hoping it make cleaning the filiter if need be (in the proper place) ok if I'm out & about.
