I say that about every stock that spikes even 10%. If you can predict it and had the $100k, you would be a billionaire extremely quickly.
 
Kicking myself for missing Virgin America's IPO today. Up 30%.

I'm not good at IPO buys anyway, when it comes to choosing the best order type.

I love that airline though, so I'll buy it eventually. Maybe next Spring after the market corrects. :laughing

Yeah, Virgin America is a great airline. Everyone I know loves flying with them including myself. I might just invest in them as well, guess I'll put them on watch myself.
 
In retrospect, I've had pretty good luck picking IPOs. I just haven't held onto them long enough.

VA was there to be had, but I didn't listen to my instinct. dang it.

nice pop it had.

Sun Edison up nearly 30% today after an acquisition of a wind farm developer putting them now into solar and wind energy development.

I set an alert for 3.50, if it hits that I will buy. That seems to be a solid low, it's around 3.80 right now.

Also, GPRO dipping about 5% right now.

Can someone explain the SHORT stuff to me?

I have news alerts setup for nasdaq:hawk and over the last two weeks or so there have been articles about the stock being heavily "shorted" and stuff like that.

I get the feeling that what they are saying is that there are a lot of people betting the stock will go down.

But why does that matter? Aren't there disproportionately more people betting it will go up?
