Buying a Gun

I rented a P99 a couple months ago, the trigger didn't fit my finger. My finger would slip down to the very bottom, and the forward edge really irritated my finger.

This is what happens with my G19 and why I was looking at the others.

I vote with the 1911 fans. That is a fighting mans weapon. If you have a mill, I've got the prints. The paperwork is easy to file with the ATF.

I really like the Sig because it "feels best". However shooting IPSC/3gun and $$$ dictate that I use the 9mm (dont own a 226). I may get this one though

The Glock is fugly, but you've seen my bikes and function is No.1, I currently use the P99 but that will be swapped for a G34.

P99 is a good weapon, the mag release is a pain as it requires two movements (reaching around the grip and pressing down), the trigger reset is pretty good though.

The Sig reset is atrocious but like the Glock the mag release is easily thumbed.

I agree on the mag release, kinda odd. Especially for me since I have small hands :blush

Anybody else check out the SIG GSR 1911? http://www.gunweek.com/2004/feature0310.html

My co-worker bought one and showed it to me last Friday. Holy shit was I impressed! That is one awesome gun, and I haven't even shot it! That's one SIG I would love to have, and I normally have a disdain for all things SIG. Gladly make an exception in that case though. My only complaint is that it's not a full-length frame/rail and it's $$$$.

All milled parts is a good thing, but I hate single stack.

Well, I have no idea what the Sig Arms plant looks like, but from what I've heard (now we get into hearsay, I'm not claiming facts) SigArms has had some quality control issues, like poor trigger work and such..and for a $1200 gun, that's kinda shitty if what he says is true. And I heard this from my buddy who's a LEO in Washington :confused

Now if HK made a 1911, I'd be thoroughly impressed..but it would probably be over a grand anyway..and at that price, you might as well get the USP Expert..compensated, .45ACP, and straight from the Fatherland :teeth

Trigger quality is probably what they inherited using the Series 80 firing pin safety. It's the same thing that happened to the Colt when they designed it.
It's what happens when you fool with the firing pin and trigger.
