Remember the Buzz Aldrin Punch? Lunar Landing Doubt Persists 40 Years Later

Buzz Aldrin Punches Skeptic
As the nation celebrates the 40th anniversary of the first Lunar Landing, a segment of conspiracy theorists continue to claim that the Apollo moon landings were a sham.
Polls show that, after all these years, a stubborn 6 percent of the American public still believes it never happened, according to the New York Times.
Much of the skeptical fire has been fueled by Bart Sibrel, a filmmaker who has produced two films making the case that the Apollo Moon Landings was a hoax.
The films have been widely dismissed by the scientific community, but one of them, "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Moon," appeared on Fox TV in 2001.
The confrontational Sibrel has approached several Apollo astronauts, asking them about the authenticity of the footage. In 2002, he lured Buzz Aldrin to a Beverly Hills hotel under the guise of an interview for a Japanese TV show.
When Aldrin arrived, Sibrel insisted that he swear on a Bible that the landing was not a fake. Aldrin responded by asking him to get away. Sibrel kept at it, calling him a "coward and a liar and a thief," prompting Aldrin to punch him in the face.
