After 18 years I have sent in resignation letters to both the SHSP CA Motorcycle Safety Committee and the CMSP Committees. I feel like I did some good work there over those years and worked with some great people.

The pandemic changed everything to online and it just never was the same for me.
I did not mind driving two hours to see people face to face one bit. So much more effective for an OG to do the work. Specially for someone that likes to stir things up and poke the bear here and there.

The new tech and procedures on the SHSP Committee really left me behind and the last couple years I have felt pretty useless in some ways.

It was good sharing the info with BARF and it was good to see the future actions, but time has caught up to me.

Huge thanks to Nick Haris with the AMA and The Lombardo Group who repped ABATE of CA, my brothers in arms in many ways and a special shout out to Ron Miller with the OTS as one helpful Government man and friend.

Thank you for all the good and effective work you’ve done on behalf of all of us here, and for motorcyclists everywhere. It’s time to leave that work for others, and to enjoy the fruits of your labors. You done good, budman!

Yea, thanks Budman.

I can relate to the alienation of working remotely. I did not enjoy it at all, when I was doing it.

I have been to a few of those meetings with you in Sacre tomato, in the before times

the best part of those was the group ride and lunch afterwards

Thank you for your service to this community Bud 🙏

Thanks for everything you've done for the community, Budman! :thumbup

I've read a bunch of your reports on the meetings and your input over the years, I don't think anybody has done as much for riders as you have over the years.

I'm sure that it's tough to step aside for you.

You already know how I feel about you and your hard work, Bud.
Nothing but sincere and genuine gratitude to a sincere and genuine dude.
You've done more than your part.
:ride

The time to start shedding your responsibilities has finally come. Please know that your efforts are appreciated by everyone here.

So much has been accomplished, much of it traces back directly to you and those who wielded the swords beside you. A HUGE GIANT ENORMOUS thanks for all you've done.

Yes!

I’ve only ever met Dennis two times. Once up at Alices with my wife. And once in my home when I was giving away some books on motorcycling. He is a first class dude.

You done good.

I agree on F2F meetings. A little talking face on a screen can never replace a warm body.

Got a phone call from the CHP. They were bummed, but after a 30 minute chat sure understand where I am at and also listened to what I felt was better back in the day vs the new way of doing things.

They were happy to hear that BARF was not going anywhere and would still be around to help where needed. We also talked about the reality of younger motorcycle riders and how they communicate.. Snap Chat, IG vs a Forum sort of thing.

Also some banter about the Isle of 9 because the Seargent is a native to that area and it is interesting to him (as a rider). That was a nice part about the CHP on the CMSP side. They ride.

It was a very nice discussion.

One last meeting in November.
