CALSTAR 4 BARF Members

Thought you might like a real life example of the cost in case you are sitting on the fence on this. My daughter biffed it on her bmw and went over the cliff on hwy 9 back in Sept. Life flight bill total was $26,900. Blue shield payed $21k, leaving a balance of $5900. Your health insurance experience my be different.
I,m joining. Thanks for setting this up.

Sounds too good to pass up. One question that may already have been covered. I seem to be firmly in R.E.A.C.H territory. Never even seen a Calstar bird. Do they work together or do I have to save all my Ragdoll moments for the south bay?......On a side note, my kids spent a good portion of their younger years assuming R.E.A.C.H was specifically for moto accidents. That's the only time they'd seen them, and unfortunatly they've seen them alot. My son used to say R.E.A.C.H stood for Recovers Everybody After Crashing Heavily.....Seriously, if they will work with west marin and Sears Pt. I'm in!

I'm in. I'll with next year when I have to renew. :)

In fact, should I spread the words beyond BARF???

PMing now... Thanks for doing this! :thumbup

(I thought we only needed 15+ not 50+?)

Thanks MCOM, got the paperwork from you, owe ya a cold frosty beverage.

Got my cards already. A letter was enclosed stating that Calstar and REACH do not have reciprocity, seems like they did last year. Anybody have both?

Any reason why you would purchase this in addition to health insurance? Sure, it's cheap (especially when compared to a 5 figure airlift), but it seems like this would be covered under a good health plan, no?

EDIT: Seriously asking...I know it may vary policy to policy but does anyone have any knowledge here?
:rofl:rofl:rofl...

Considering that the cost of health ins has increased by the amount that I would have gotten a raise for for in the last 3 yrs and that's even going for a crappier plan.

If I am found partially responsible for an accident "I MAY" be billed for transport....

Add the almost doubling the workman's comp for what I do and it's out of control. For every dollar I take home $.63 goes somewhere else...

If you figure most plans are 80/20 with a several hundred dollar deductible...50 dollars or whatever per household per year is no big deal.

hmm, I see an option for $30 as well, does that mean we have over 150 people signed up now?

I know its only a $5 dollar difference, but is everyone clicking the $35 dollar option.

Heh. Just saw this, minutes after dropping my Enloe membership payment in the mail. They reciprocate with CALSTAR, don't they?
