Can you jumpstart a car with a bike?

it would depend on a few different things. It would depend on how big of a load (CCA) you can put out and what you are turning. Turning a civic motor is a lot easier then a 396 thats been sitting for some time. The voltage does not matter (12V) it's the amperage. Voltage=electrical pressure, Amperage=electrical flow. Think of amperage as the water in a river and voltage as the force pushing the water. So thus the more amps you have to put out, the more power you have (bigger river).

Well actually with the bike running, with any luck at all, it will also fry your regulator, stator, and possibly smoke your wiring harness as well.

The car needs a LOT of amperage to turn the motor over, and a dead car battery will suck even more. The bike battery/charging system can not provide even half of what is needed, but the way electricity works it will try to supply it anyway. Basically the equivalent of shorting the bike battery out. Nasty stuff.

So I want to know more details. Why doesn't that simply blow a fuse instead of blowing out the entire electrical system? Isn't that what fuses are for?

BIKE to CAR:
You'll never turn a car engine with a motorcycle battery, so don't bother.

My mustang runs off a motorcycle battery.
